I can understand why you wouldn't, but man I wanted to see the show. hopefully you can go to production with them. there are already rumors of street cars with rear windows made out of the stuff and it can be a pain for rescue. side windows wouldn't worry me as much except in a water type situation. chances are if 7lbs are of importance to you, then when you crash you will not be comming out the window anyway.

Too bad more of the posters here haven't felt the way our cars feel if you take a couple hundred pounds out of them. I'm way behind you guys at 170 pound weight loss but it is significant. I will keep working on my car for as long as I own it. To all the nay sayers that tell you to lose weight or take a dump, all I have to say is, "DO BOTH". That also goes for all the guys that say you can get a bigger performance boost with a cam. I like the windows...a lot!

try that if the door is jambed from impact and the other side is against something. I am well aware of all three cables in my car. I cut people out of these things for a living. I have seen more than my fair share of what happens to cars after impacting things and have been in the water more than a few times. I am curious as to how much force it would take to remove the poly window for rapid access to an injured driver or to gain access to a door release cable with out having to pull out the big toys and do serious damage. I am by no means against the poly window and think its cool they have made some work.

gotcha. that would take little effort. catch the lip and give it a nice ******. i like the idea of the side windows and rear hatch mixed with halltechs new carbon halo and roof. that, with my mods and some really light rims could make for a fun ride.

Jason,
$71 a pound is a really good deal. I'd take that all day long. Are the windows in the video a one off? If you don't decide to make them, could you let us know who made these? If you go into production or you do your own for your car, please do a quick photo shoot of the install.

while power plastic windows have definitely been done, maybe not on a c6?
there is a big back/forth by the major players in the plastic window word about safety
polycarbonate is definitely not your favorite when it comes to busting out of it if needed, however acrylic splinters into shards vs crumbling like safety glass.
since you can get out (and get cut) vs potentially not getting out.. i made the original suggestion of acrylic based on me personally. MOST people choose poly because its oh about 100x easier to work with.
in the end; racing is dangerous, and if you are worried about getting out, then don't get in.
