I may do this to my ZR1 OEM wheels. No chance of it harming the finish?

Op I don't prefer polished wheels usually and rock black wheels myself but the original polished wheels look way better sorry.
Was hard to see them go, but I get a thousand more compliments and looks with the new wheels.

New wheels weighed a total of 244lbs...HRE's weighed 284...with tires and TPMS. Crazy

thats when you peel it off and start again.

my wheels are actually pretty bad from the previous owners. I dont think the barrels were ever actually cleaned before i owned the car. So I'm going to do some work on them with this stuff.

for those interested, dipyourcar.com has kits for wheels, cars, etc. Plently of different colors available, more than you can find at home depot etc. They have glossifier for those that dont care for the matte look.

40lbs of rotating unsprung weight is hard to pass up if you track it. Car looks fantastic both ways.

Is that a Halltech hood?

Really like your car regardless !!!

Gotta admit I like it better with the brushed finish wheels - a bit of class.

Right now there are black Vettes with black wheels everywhere - like a giant Batmobile parade.

I think you misread his post. The 3 piece wheels are heaver than the HREs. That is typical. Monoblocks tend to be lighter. The HREs weighed 40lbs more with the tires and sensors.

Who cares, the new wheels look AWESOME. I wish I could afford those three piece wheels but sadly I had to save a few $$$ and just ordered the Monoblocks in the SL version.

Oh, and yes, that hood is the Halltech GT2 Dred.

very nice -- but learn how to either turn down the megapixel size on your camera - or run your stuff thru MS paint and resize it... I'm on a 27" monitor and I can't even see the whole picture.

Didn't particularly like the center cap with the flowers on it. Otherwise, OK
