Halltech Carbon Fiber Stinger Tips
They are not cheap, but nothing made in pure carbon fiber is. We use the 400F high temp carbon fiber used on the Pratt and Miller Daytona engine parts and the result is stunning and lighter than any tip made for the Akrapovic exhaust system:
Total weight: .67 lbs (4)
Akrapovic titanium: 6 lbs (4)
First ZR1 to sport these Stinger tips:
Instantly shaving 5.33 lbs off the tail vs. the EVO titanium tips and more if they are stainless steel.
No clamps-bonding after press fit installation makes them permanent.
On our Z06:

Melting Slicks
I wish you made this when I had my Akr. I would have jumped on this and keeped the exhaust. The only thing I did not like about the exhaust was the super big tips. What is the size of the tips? They look much better and smaller then the 5" & 4.75

If we never sell another set, I am happy with them and the -5.5lbs.

5.5lbs. is not going to make much of a difference for me either way. I like the way it looks and the way it fills in the rear portion of the exhaust area. Considering I lost 105lbs. in the last two years, one due too gallstones & gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) in Jan, 2010. Then this past Feb 12, I was in a serious motorcycle accident to where I was in Trauma ICU for 12 days and lost the majority of the weight while I was recovery from a broken collar bone that received a 10" Titanium plate with 12 screws (that match my new Akrapovic Tiatanium exhaust might I add) . I also received 3 broken ribs while one puncture wound my right lung. At least I can laugh it off now but at one point it was touch & go. So while the "Pure Carbon" tips might be an issue for some with the weight and look, it's not with me. I find its mostly because of the size and what GIO was looking for. Sorry for getting OT.

Drifting
Dang it!! I want one too. Actually, my nephew has a big titanium bolt and nut in his chest that was used to correct a serious heart problem caused by an inverted ribcage. He was supposed to have it removed a couple years ago but they said it wouldn't hurt anything to keep it so he did. I have finally gotten serious enough to take some weight off the steering wheel actuator.

If you measure center to center, it should be 4"+ each tip is 4".
There is no room for opening them up at the pipe either. Mayby .010" more, but measure the pipe o.d. and let me know.
Thanks,
