There are a number of really complete threads about this topic. I'd say to some searches to track them down.

09 vs. 06:

-Improved Steering
-Improved dry sump system
-Smoother shifting (could be wrong)
-Larger glove box
-Sound reduction materials (adds like 30lbs I believe)
-Spyder wheels available
-Bluetooth available
-3LZ option available

That's all I can recall right now between the 06 and 09. I remember seeing a few threads on this topic. If you can find one of those I'm sure they will have a lot more info for you.

The early Z06 (2006-2008) had a smaller capacity dry sump oil system - about 8 quarts.

Many owners that track the car added a larger tank due to oil spike problems in certain track situations, but I run my '06 hard at the track and have never had that problem with the stock tank.

When the ZR1 came out in 2009 all dry sump engines got the current 10-1/2 quart system - including dry sump GS manual coupes when they came along in 2010.

Also, the early Z06's had a manual latch for the hatch - same latch as the vert trunk. In about 2009 the Z06 got the power pulldown latch like all other coupes.

The 1LZ trim level didn't have side airbags. All trim levels for all models of the C6 got side airbags in 2010.

I do really like the adjustable lumbar support and side bolsters - and that's why I added them to my '06 Z06. They weren't available in a Z06 until the 3LZ got them in 2010. Also, the passenger seat was only manual until 2010 when you could get the 6-way power passenger seat with the 3LZ trim package.

3LZ option was available in 2008. The tranny also change in 2008 to the TR6060. Steering was also in 2008. Sound deadening was in 2007.

Dry sump was 2009. Spyder was also 2009 I believe and Bluetooth also.

Problems:

2007 Some rocker arm problems (Small batch)
2006-2007 Axel problems. 2006 first problem. 2007 revision to the 2006 axels. By 2008 fixed.

Did the power passenger seat started with the introduction of the 3LZ package in 08?

Nope - couldn't get the power passenger seat or adjustable lumbar and bolster supports until 2010 on the 3LZ.

UNLESS.....you did the "Kawal mod" like I did!!

I had a power pull down latch and power passenger seat and adjustable lumbar/bolsters in my 2005 Coupe, and when I got a 2006 Z06 I really missed both those features - so I added them both to my Z06!!!

Butt....couldn't get it from the factory until 2010.

Bob
