$70 Head Studs

My buddy ordered these to see how they look. He is more concerned with the nuts. Anyone have experience with them? Safe to use? My heads are going on within a week and I am hesitant on using them.

Why take the chance with an unknown product? I'd use factory GM or ARP.

They will probably be fine.

If you were going to say Rod and Main bolts, I'd shy away.

Fasteners from china and Mexico are already all over your car.

12PT is fairly standard on engine fasteners. Would I run chinese studs in my engine? Nope. Whats another few hundred bucks worth in peace of mind to get the ARP stuff?

$70. for studs? You get exactly what you're paying for

$15,000 motor and Brand X ChiCom studs? No way.

ARP is the way to go

For just clamping a head at 70lbs, they will probably be overkill.

GM uses a head bolt basically equivalent to a grade 5 bolt from the factory... Which are probably from Mexico.
