LS7 Engine Blown?
Please vote whether you have had LS7 engine problems or not.
After you vote please post the year of your Vette and what your problem was if you had one. Thanks.
I would like a ZO6 but hearing about these engines having problems turns me away from one. I realize it is most likely a smaller percentage of ZO6’s that have experienced engine problems but it is still an expensive problem if you should have it. I think the LS7 motor itself is $16k.

Safety Car
Biased poll will be inherently biased.
Buy an unmodified car with a healthy warranty, or buy a used car at a discount and rework the heads. You take your chances to some degree either way.
If that isn't tolerable, then buy something else (with a warranty).

No problems...'09 C6Z w/ Halltech MF103 CAI, B&B Fusions, cistom x-pipe, and ~8,800 Miles as of today. Have a GMPP until Apr 2016.

The only problem I have is traction. Even with my BIG 345 Michelin PS2's.
2007 with 9,600 miles. Halltech Super Bee MF 103, 1 7/8" coated KOOKS LTH's without cats and Generation III Fusion EXTREMES. I definitely do not see any blue smoke. For me, few things are as exciting as ripping through the gears with my MGW short throw shifter and SCREAMING Billy Boat exhaust.

2006, at 27k miles valve guides/etc were shot. Replaced with new heads.
At 30k miles a lifter/cam failed.

2011. Only issue was a Check Engine Light which was due to a CAI without a tune. I don't consider this a problem. It's all stock now.

Nice, that should give the OP a little confidence along with this thread.

2009, 34K miles, dropped valve. Warranty replacement, 400 miles later heads replaced due to excessive guide wear. Replacement motor had a September 12 build date.

No problems (yet), with my 20K mls 2006 LS7 engine, built by Greg Jones. My engine is stock internally, no tune.
Like many, I have my concerns about the valve guides though. For that reason, I am considering WCCH heads and valvetrain upgrades as soon as I can afford those.
External mods are Melrose Smoothflow long tube headers, a Vararam CAI, a FAST LSXr intake manifold, an ARE Stage 3 dry sump system, a Meziere electrical water pump, and an ATI harmonic balancer.
