Back into a Z06
I had a 2007 Z06 a few years back but had to sell it. After that I had another project car with an LS3 that I just sold. Just found this 2009 and it is a blast so far.
I am still trying to figure out what parts are going back to stock. It may be a little too "showy" for me. For now I will be driving it the way it is. In the future I will be selling the ZR1 splitter and also the rear spoiler. Will be picking up a OEM hood locally, so I will see how that looks on there compared to the Specter Werks CF one. ZR1 spoiler is on the way, then a complete detail.

Nice!
Personally, I get what you're saying - I would swap out the hood for an OEM unit and then think on it for a while. I think it would look very clean as the splitters are essentially OEM options in later years.
I'm not a big fan of black, but this car looks good enough to change my mind with the wheels and 3LZ - really just a tastefully modded 2009 (less the aftermarket hood).

Sharp looking car, I would leave everything alone except for the hood and replacing the rear spoiler with what you have ordered. Hopefully there are no holes drilled where the current spoiler curves over welcome back and best of luck with it.

to OP...all,
why do you NOT like that hood?
I have been thinking about the OEM 427 hood for mine....I do see that one is really raised at the rear of it....I do like the vents though. That might certainly help w/temps in this Texas heat....
But, I do tend to like the raised look of the 427 Verts.

For a track car, I agree the louvered hood is functional - it just looks too... Overdone for a street car IMHO (kind of like a GT wing).
But hey, op was just thinking out loud and I agreed with him.

Thanks for all the input guys.
Yes, I sold it a few weeks ago. I do miss it but the Z06 it a totally different animal!
Don't get me wrong, I do like the hood, and it think it goes with all the other add-ons. I guess part of me still likes the OEM Z06 look. Keep in mind I have only had the car 24 hours, and it is all still new to me. Now for track use, yes this hood would be great. I think I will get an OEM hood and go back and forth between the two depending on my mood!
Close up of the hood:
By the way, the fitment is 100% perfect. Not like some other CF hoods out there.

I purchased a bone stock 09 VR Z this past June and I love it. Coming out of a highly modified H/C C5, I plan to keep this Z stock. That said, I think your car looks amazing. I am not sure I would change anything. Beautiful car. Good luck whatever you decide.

Nice - Z. My Z is bone stock. Will leave it that way. with the exception of improvements to the head with roller rockers and stainless steel valves once the GMPP expires.
All and all I am not a fan of aftermarket hoods on these cars, but the set up on yours is very nice.
