Where does your clutch release? (2008)
Would like to hear from 08 Z06 owners, and where their clutch pedal releases. Mine releases high. I drove a friends 2010 Z06 and his releases low, much lower then mine. Is this normal? I believe mine has always released high,

My 08Z releases high also. I was a little alarmed at first thinking that maybe it was worn in spite of having only 6500 miles when I bought it. It seems to release within an inch or two of taking out the slack but I've never noticed any actual slippage when launching or shifting. Hopefully this is normal for an 08.

I have another friend who has a 09 and another who just got a 2013, Both release low, not high like my 08. And I have less than 3K on it. Never raced.
I took it back to the dealer, and the corvette mechanic told me it was not normal, and something was wrong with the pressure plate. Before I have them ripping apart my car, I thought I'd post here and get your opinions.

High. Since I have an aftermarket clutch, if I let it sit for a while, it will "sink" a bit where I need to stick the toe of my foot under it and pull it back up. If I don't, it will engage low. Since the return spring popped off, though, it hasn't "sunk" lately, so it always engage high now.

My 08 has always been high.

So, 06-08 release high, and 09 and up release low?
Is that correct? I'm concerned, because the corvette tech that I spoke with said it's not normal. So, I'm still a bit confused!!!!

my stock 09 releases about an inch off the floor, or a little more - low. The engagement is very smooth and I like the TR6060 which does have a little gear nibble when cold, but that goes away quickly.
I use the Ranger method to keep the clutch fluid clean (for the last 14K miles).

When you say "releases high" do you really mean "engages high" almost at the top of its travel ? The more I read your post the more confused I am.

My 06 releases AND engages within about an inch or so of each other, so not sure what the difference is in the two terms. Mine is high. Maybe about a third of the way down. ~2-3 inches. 10K miles.

YES, It engages close to the top of its travel. I took it back to the dealership, and was told by the corvette tech it was not normal, and that something was wrong the the pressure plate.

I went to another dealership this morning to confirm that I do have a clutch/pressure plate problem. It was confirmed, and it's at the dealership.
Possibly will be ready tomorrow, that's if they have all the parts.
Thanks!

2008, 16k miles, street use only - takes hold towards the top. I was told by a Corvette speed shop that did an alignment for me that it was the highest he had ever felt a Z06 engage, and that it supposedly meant the clutch was nearly worn out and due for replacement.
Yet I have read on here of guys getting over 60-80k miles with a factory clutch....
Mine holds full power in 1st and 6500 rpm shifts to 2nd and 3rd. I've been doing the Ranger method for over a year.
???
Pls keep us advided what the dealer finds.
