Either way, it will make for a great car. If you can combine a 1LE with the LS7 .....
I also noticed that the Gen V engine isn't listed

I find this hard to believe; the camaro is a heavy car and I'd think is more suited to the LSA, plus I wonder how they'd differentiate between two 500+hp versions of the same car.
Hell I'm not complaining though, I'd love to see this happen!

That's a surprise. Here they go and spend 5 years and millions of dollars to develop the LT1 and don't use it in the Camero.
Maybe it's a PR ploy by GM to show that the LS7 is a good engine, to head off all the negative press the LS7 has been getting, by showing they are not afraid to continue using the LS7. But, I bet they also know they won't sell many Camero's with LS7's because of the cost, thus won't be exposing themselves to that much liability because of warranty claims.

Might be just a one year thing before they switch over to the 6th gen Camaro. Would be a nice combo with the 1LE, higher HP car built for the corners and lighter than ZL1.

I can see this slotting just fine between the LS3 and LSA, the same way the LS7 slots between the LS3 and LS9 in the Corvette.

I believe I read where the GEN V LT1 has different motor mount locations then the GEN IV LS3. That might be why they are continuing to use the GEN IV in the Camaro until the next generation Camaro is ready to go. Then switchover to the GEN V 4.3L V6 and LT1 engine family for the new Camaro. With the redesign of the C7 they can go ahead and have the car designed for the dnew LT1 motor mount location.

Not that the LS7 is a bad engine, but it is rather disappointing seeing them put it into a 2014 vehicle and being introduced as something newer or greater when it was originally introduced into the Corvette in 2006. Especially since the Camaro has been out since 2010 and there are of a ton of them running around with mods with a couple hundred more horsepower than the LS7, including mine. It just doesn't seem right. Now perhaps making it standard, ok, but no go on it being an option.

looks like the only really unique motor to the corvette was the dohc Lt5 Built by mercury marine for the c4 zr1. while it lacks in horsepower behind the c6 z06/zr1, it really is/was a superior and unique corvette offering.
