That would be my first mod too!!!

They need not worry about finding that extra 25hp and spend their time on a redesign, of the rear lighting.

God I hate those tail lights! But the rest of the car is starting to grow on me. Looking forward to the bigger engine version which I believe many of us will gravitate towards.

And the report from GM said "matches the GS performance". I haven't seen anything anywhere besides what you just posted that says the C7 is definitely faster than the GS.
yea it depends on how you read it really...my view is that so far, it matches GS performance, but as you mentioned, the 450HP has not been confirmed as the final HP of the motor.. I really think its going to be more like 475HP, and will be close to our Z's , but drivers being equal our Z's willl still be quicker. The C7 is already known to be heavier than the C6 base, and we know our Z's are lighter than the C6 base, so even with all the fancy technology and direct injection, etc.. the C7 will still have to make up for the weight difference.

Didnt the c6 ran even with C5 Z06 ..

I think the C7 will be on par with c6 Z06 the new LT1 makes more tourqe than LS7 add to that 7 speed and better aerodynamic

The claims they make versus real world may not be the same. The C7 may be close to the GS but not close to the Z06.

When will we first see people buying C7 style taillights for their C6Z's .....to update the look ??
Imo the round style lites could never have been used on the C7......way too different genre.

I hope this does not happen. Making a C6 look like a C7 is just wrong in my opinion.

No the LS2 car did not run as fast as the C5 z06, only after the LS3 car came out did it equal that performance according to the various fast list on the forum. Even the best times posted on the forum for GS is not faster than the previous LS3 cars. These are show room stock numbers no drag radials.

I don't think the C7 will be close to C6 z06 in the quarter mile at all in stock form especially if the C7 runs into someone who can drive the car! Now the z06 replacement will be another story hopefully it will compete with the new Viper.

They will lose on purpose because they won't want us to see their taillights.

Even with 475hp it's still down 30hp from the Z06 crank 505hp which is a modest number too by the way. And then there is the weight, I'm guessing 300+lbs at least. That will equal a slower car.

If anyone tries to race a z06 in a c7 they will lose handily. Shouldn't even be that close unless the z06 driver muffs the launch.

A GS is close to the Z, by most people's definition.

Wishful thinking by GS owners! No the GS is not close on the road course, quarter mile, or top end power. There is no difference in the previous LS3 car and the GS in HP. Why would the GS be close to a C6 z06? How heavy is the GS compared to the previous LS3 z51 equipped cars? Base Corvette is 3225, 3300 for the GS, and 3199 for the z06. Big difference between 12.3 117mph for the GS and 11.7 125mph that's at least 5 car links in the quarter mile the driver of the GS is going to shut it down! (The information I gave is straight out of the 2013 Corvette Brochure.)

Man, the back end of the C7 looks like complete crap, what a design failure on what is a pretty aggressive styled C7, but the entire rear end just does not fit the lines of the car, and hacks of the back end into this cheezy boxy rear end, that looks like it belongs on a f-body (not a vette).

Ok, i digress, back on topic, we will never see the rear end of a C7 if we race one in our Zs, but they will certainly be seeing our bad azz looking rear end and tailights.
