Front tire size should be 275-285/30/19 and Rear Tires Size 335-345/25/20 which is proper ride height and is what we fit most of our Zs with.
Many of the guys slam their vettes and this setup allows for that as well.
A 19/20 ride is much better than the 20/20 setup in my opinion but we have just as many guys running 20/20 and several have stepped up to 20/21.
Any questions just hollar

I'm running a set of ZR1 wheels with the OE Michelin PS2 ZP (runflat) tires.
They are virtually the exact same diameter as the ZO6 OE tires, so absolutely no problems with AH or Drag Control.
I can't tell any difference in ride between the OE Goodyears and the thinner sidewall Michelins, and the Michelins are giving WAAAAAYYYY better wear (cost more initially, but much better wear makes them a much better value!!), they are a better tire on the street, and I've got about 10 track days on them and they perform better on the track than any other street tire I've run.
And I think they look good, too!!

Tire choice, tire choice, tire choice...
I stuck with the 18/19 because there are better tire options. Plus I prefer a little more sidewall vs the rubber band look. You can still run a drag radial in the rear. And a little more side wall flex to put more meat to the ground. It makes a huge difference in traction, exactly why you won't see anyone hooking up on a strip on 20s.
The shorter the side wall the less absorbing the tire is, plain and simple. The ride will become a bit harsher. Is it noticeable to make enough of a difference to the everyday driver? Maybe not, but don't kid yourself, it won't be getting any softer.

I was making the same decision a few years ago . I stayed with the 18-19" set up & bought new wheels/tires. I regretted it right from the get go, so I left them on for 2 yrs. & sold them (more like gave them away) this past spring. I'm now on 19-20" Invos/360's and couldn't be happier with them. The look is IMO best suited for the Z, 18-19's just look to small.
The ride is better but that's mostly due to getting rid of RF's. The Invos are quiter also. I also added a set of DRM shocks.
PS...if you go with non-RF's. Buy a good compressor & patch kit (many many posts about this out there).

I think a bit of clarification is in order for the term "drivability" or "best ride" or "best performance" or "most comfortable". Theoretically, a tire with more side wall will have more compliance with regards to bumps, road cracks, pot holes, etc... So again, theoretically, a tire with more side wall (and all else being equal), that tire will have a more comfortable ride, be smoother and so forth.
When you start mixing different tire types, makes and widths into this comparison discussion, reason goes out the window.
I am with the OP. I would like to know just exactly what type of "ride comfort" is given up going to the 19/20 combination over the 18/19 combination - with all other parameters remaining the same; tire make, tire width, tire type.
I'm running 19/19 NT05's right now and I can feel every friggin pebble on the road. I'd rather not go with a set up that has a rougher ride that what I have now. Some of us don't live in areas where you get to drive on nice smooth pavement everywhere you go. Shiit, I can't go fifty miles without seeing a damn pilot car, dozers and flagmen.

18"-19" by a mile.
People who sincerely believe that 20s are ideal for performance, ought not to be modifying cars.
Big wheels are strictly for aesthetics; there is a reason that every professional race team only runs wheels just big enough to fit over the brakes. Ever seen lo-pro tires on an F1 car?

The OP doesn't really specifies the purpose, but I'm almost certain it is to make his car look better, which is my reasoning for going 19/20. A hardcore track guy has 2 sets..flashy street set and track set. Just my opinion.

GM went 19/20 because the masses like the big flashy wheels and so you can tell the ZR1 apart from the "normal" C6's. Not for performance. Don't kid yourself. If you truly believe having more rotating mass further from the axle centerline is good, I've got some nice oceanfront property in Arizona for ya.
