Default FNBADAZ06 spins up the dyno drum at LPM

Well, the dyno numbers are starting to flow in during the first several dyno tuning sessions on my car. We experienced some fuel rail issue that are being addressed as we speak, but I got some preliminary numbers and video of one of the sessions.

I've got a busy day ahead of me, so I'll flesh out what's going on and what we're seeing so far later today, but this should wet your appetite.

Bottom line.....so far, 558 RWHP at 5700 RPM......we lost the data feed to the dyno before we got to 6400 RPM, which is where max RWHP will come in , so , when we get the fuel rail issue resolved I'll put her back on the roller for a full pass with data logs.

Enjoy....idle to WOT on the LPM dyno....CRANK UP THE VOLUME !!!!

On this particular dyno, I think I'll get to mid 560's when I get the final pull without dropout. If I hit SAE 570 I'll be suprised.
Car's making around SAE 550 max RWTQ, with 500+ available at 3600 RPM

I figured I should be approaching Katech Jason's numbers from his car, as I've roughly duplicated what he did, but with 11.6:1 compression instead of a full 12:1...we only have 91 here in AZ, though I intend to stay on E85 for most operations.

Interestingly enough, Nic (my tuner) says he sees a bit of knock retard going on in the upper RPM range even with E85....very strange. There's a feeling that maybe my fuel pump is dropping fuel pressure at the upper RPM with the demands of the E85 fuel, and without a fuel pressure gauge at the rails, it's just a blind guess, and with 68K+ miles of use maybe the pump is just not as strong as it once was. I beleive Nic says he's commanded enough fuel but the car isn't responding to the changes, so he's pulled timing back to keep the car happy.

Anyways, back to the current numbers.

Back in November of 2011, I pulled my best dyno numbers to date on the stock engine on LPM's dyno while proving the race gas/pump gas theory. With the dyno reporting 74* ambient air , 24% humidity, absolute pressure at 28.9 in-Hg, and .2 in-Hg vapor, and riding on my OEM 19" Speedlines and 325/30/19 MPSC tires, the car pulled a PB of SAE corrected 484 RWHP/457 RWTQ :thumbs

THe dyno pulls performed on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of last week were executed in warmer air (82*), equivalent baro (28.9 in-Hg), 6% humidity, and .1 in-Hg water vapor, and with the heavier 20" tire/wheel combo I recently installed.

The 4 pulls on the 91 octane tune, which has a max total timing of 18*, looked like this, with a best pull of SAE corected 544 RWHP/532 RWTQ....with 500 ft/lbs of torque coming in at 3700 RPM !!!!!

Next, the 91 pump gas was drained as best as possible, and 10 gallones of E85 was loaded up. We didn't see as big of a jump as one might have expected...possibly due to the fuel pump question raised above, but still way above my target of 530 RWHP/520 RWTQ :thumbs

How about an "official" SAE 555/538....and a 558 posted in the video above !!!!! Note that these numbers came in at 5700 RPM, where we then lose the data due to a glitch in the spark plug leads. Max power is going to come in at approximately 6400 RPM, so I'm guessing we are going to see mid 560's when we re-dyno again. With my original OEM 19's and 325/30/19 rubber in place of the heavy 20" on there now, I might be able to push it up a tad bit higher....but I'm not much of a dyno *****....I'll see what it does on the track

FYI...this is what it looks like using the Standard correction factor, which is used almost universally by all the hot rod mags for dyno numbers... 566/549 Standard.

Here's the overlay of best stock and best E85...

I can tell you, with what limited street time I've had with the car, it's an animal of a N/A car......all while coming in with package that weighs in with a sub 3100 lbs race weight
With the race/drag pack on, light fuel load, and the driver seat pulled, I just might come in at the 299X lbs number.

I might spring for a new OEM fuel pump to see if it helps the KR issue and bumps the power up a bit, but for right now, 335/25/20 PS2 ZP rubber has no chance in hell of hooking the current power on the street .

.030 I couldn't go much further as I still might need to use 91 pump gas in a pinch when E85 is not available.

Gorgeous layout under the hood. Coil relocation FTW.

Congrats man Great numbers the car looks and sounds sick.
Change the graph from ENGINE SPEED to SPEED it will show the exact power from the RPM pickup signal of the dyno.

funny you mention a little bit of knock, my tuner said the same (stingy mustang dyno, loaded) about mine. He felt he could have made more power with some more octane (i was running 93 with a splash of some cam2) and was curios what she would lay down with some E85 or half a tank of race fuel.

Tried that "trick".....we also needed to remove the Torque axis as well. Problem is, we don't have any data aquisition during that RPM range, so whatends up happening to the graph is that it platues the plot as it attempts to fill in the gap. It doesn't look like a spark dropout, but a failure in the dyno software to record data during that RPM range for this run.

I'll get her back on the dyno in a few weeks to see if I can spin a definitive number, but it looks very promising.

Hell yeah !!!!

I'll get to make some 1/8 mile passes to get used to the new clutch, and to get a rough feel of what she'll do......I know what the MPH and ET at the 1/8th roughly translates to the 1/4. Since I don't have a roll bar, I'll get the boot once I uncap a full pass, so I dont' want to waste my one and only shot for my pass

I have roughly 100 more RWHP, 80 RWTQ, and a new LS9X clutch.
I should be easily able to match my 1.52 and 10.84@129 that I ran earlier this year
