C6 z06 Prices After C7
Curious what you guys think prices will be?
I'm in market for a z and have two guys selling me zs with 40-45k miles for 35k
I'm wondering if prices will be this or current?
I was expecting 40-50k miles z for 30k ish or not possible?
And zs with 30k or less for 35k
This this too low should I pull the trigger on the 40k miles z for 35? Or wait?

With no high-powered C7 variant on the horizon, and with so few Z06s (& ZR1s) produced during the past several years,
don't be surprised to see prices on these two models stabilize for a while.
Plus, summer driving season is approaching...it's all about supply vs demand.

I agree and dont waste your time thinking over and over about the market. I know everybody wants to save a buck these days but if you find a car that meets budget, mileage, etc just buy it

It's all pure speculation...I sold my '03 C5Z last June to a buddy because I wasn't driving anymore with my '09 C6Z sitting next to it. When I sold the C5Z it was 9 years and 3 months old with 32K miles, and I got $24K from a buddy...I could have maybe gotten another grand or two if I held out; but it went to a good home with a friend. So I sold it for essentially half of what it cost new over 9 years later. I can't complain one bit, and I hope my C6Z holds its value similarly...but who knows??

substantial negative impact on your life, and/or prevent you from enjoying the car...there is no perfect answer.

Cars will always depreciate but I don't see anything pushing the car down at the rate you're worried about. Nothing is remotely as quick for the money. You'd need to go to 2x the price in the used market to find anything competitive. IMO, thats keeping values up.
As Gary mentioned, with so few Z cars in the recent years, its not like there is a surplus of them that exceeds demand.
I checked the FS/T section the other day and I've owned my car for 18 months and I'd be surprised if I couldn't make back at least 95% of what I paid for the car. Not factoring in any additional value from the mods/changes I've done.

I sold a 9,000 mile Z
6 months ago in great shape for a good price. That car is worth 5K less right now. Thats why I sold it. Its pretty obvious some dealers are trying to make up the money the have in some z cars before theC7 is out.
Don't kid yourself, the c6z is going to drop way down very soon. It is only a UNIT to dealers. Sorry guys.

Damn.. 35k is such a bargain for this much car.. my God. Just buy one now, prices may come down 5k after the C7 release, they may not. Either way you'll have a Z06 to drive this summer. You only live once and you can't take it with you!

Buy what is demonstrated by book values and comparables to be a good value today. Expect it to loose value, that's what cars do. If it holds it's own, count your blessings. If we waited to buy cars when we we sure it would not drop in price, we would never buy cars.

Wow yeah that c7 that is SLOWER, HEAVIER, and NARROWER, than the c6z06 is going to just bury z06 prices. When that msrp hits starting at 55k and 70k fully loaded those faster and wider z06s will just hit the bargain bin right? Totally makes sense to me.
Id buy that 45k mile z06 for 35k before the seller wakes up.

They will depreciate as other gens have. I can say that the Z06 held it's value far better than any other car I have ever owned. At three years, most cars usually sell half what they sold for new. NOT the Z06.
When the new gen is released (I'm referring to a new gen "Z" model b/c the first model to show up will NOT be more powerful than the current Z model Vette) they'll do what past gens have done. They are cars after all.
My advice is: life is too short to worry about a few grand considering these cars. Their truly awesome machines and not many cars the world over can hang w/one, even today after production has ended and new is on the horizon. You have to spend big bucks for something which is more capable....so I would NOT worry over a few grand sir.
Most of the depreciation has already occurred anyway.
