It amazes me that my fellow corvette brothers are so blind in their faith. I just got to give credit to where it is due. The GTR defies logic. I have seen countless times of a GTR winning against a corvette who had more power and def the weight advantage. The quick shifts and no loss of boost during the shifts gives the GTR a lot of help. Just my. 02.

My brother, on this sunshine filled day full of hope and promise, a Katech Torquer powered C6Z pulled away from the almighty GTR. I have been on this forum for more than 10 years and have been doing HPDE, racing and instructing longer than that. I probably have more track time than 1/3rd of the professional racers you see on TV for what it is worth.

I think the gtr is s great car with great performance, but in this situation it got beat. I have been on the track with moded gtr's and they are a formidable car to try to pass. Are they unbeatable, no and that's in a strait line or road course. Of course allot of it is driver.

The GTR does seem to defy logic; the computerized handling does reduce driver input, but it is hard to argue with the results.

Here's a video of a modified Alpha logic 2012 GTR vs a 2008 C/H/I ZO6 from a roll. Granted this is not a 2013 but it is modified and the ZO6 pulls on it pretty hard. A good driver makes a huge difference just look at the fast list. This is not impossible in my opinion.

because the Z06 won this time as expected , the folks who are in denial a GTR lost , have the nerve to try and tell us we are coming off as narrow minded and blind faith in the Z06 , when actually they are the ones who come across that way with the GTR looking at the facts here . The Gtr can't over come laws of physics . What's funny if it were any other car , this thread would have died off last week for some reason the GTR butt hurt has reached epic proportion now

There's a simple way the clear it all up. OP said it was on a private road and the gtr was visiting someone on his street.

Just has to go back with the gtr guy and tape this 10 car lead

The thing that has always confused me about this ongoing war is that I have NEVER seen a stock vs. stock comparison where the GT-R has beaten the Z06 to 150 MPH. 0 to 60 MPH and the quarter mile are nice metrics, but THE ***** to the wall performance metric is the 0 to 150 MPH time. 2012 Z06 vs. 2013 GT-R: GT-R wins 0 to 60 MPH, 0 to 100 MPH, and the quarter mile, but in the END, guess who gets spanked?

Z06: 0 to 150 MPH in 17.0 seconds
GT-R: 0 to 150 MPH in 17.8 seconds

That's damn near a second, or in other words:

While I 100% agree with you that the Z06 is faster to 0-150, even taking into account it is from a dig where it is at a disadvantage. That is really impressive.

However, in a race from a dig until 150, while a Z06 may hit that speed first, the GTR would have gotten so far ahead from 0-100~ that the Z would still be behind by the time they both hit 150. As much as I hate it, the advantage from off the line from a good launch is incredible. Having better top end can only do so much good at these speeds.

The first few Z06s tested by C&D have the Z getting to 150mph in 17.8 sec. Not sure where you got your stats from. I can cite the issue dates if necessary. If they both take 17.8 sec to get to that speed, the GTR would be ahead due to the huge advantage it would have by the 1/4 mile mark. (about 6-7 car lengths ahead).

Dude F*%k all that magazine ******** you read. I went to the track and raced against a modded GtR that put down 550hp. It was running low 11's allll dayyy long in the mid 120's.

Hit 10.9 one time, once. I put down 600 wheel and I couldn't get off the line like him because I'm a complete ameture honestly... But I put down 10.7 @ 132mph. So much more trap speed. Even if he was a 600 wheel he would not have gone 6-8mph faster at the end.

They have easy potential but the buy in cost is way too high for me. You have 100K 9 second car? Congrats....?
