Default ? About 2013 c6z diff

I am swapping one in my c5z and I was looking to put the diff cooler on... I have a plug driver side rear of the diff for the fluid to go in the diff from the cooler, but my rear diff cover is a metal one with a "X" on it instead of the vertical bung that the pinion pump would pump fluid from. My question is in '13 did they change any design for the diff to bypass the cooler or did someone rob the cooler off of it along with the rear housing before they sold it to me used?
I will post pics in one second... Brb

Where the blue mark is, is where I believe the cooler is supposed to flow in... With the 3 mounting spots in a "L" to the left and below it.

And this is NOT the rear diff cover I have seen for c6z's in the past.

I have never seen a '13 like I said... But figured I would see what y'all have to say.

Not sure if the design was changed, but quick questions for you, did you switch cradles? My understanding is that the C6 Trans and diff won't fit in the C5 cradle.

No, they won't fit, you have to use a c6 cradle. I also used the c6 lower control arms and tie rod ends. Depending on manual or auto you have two sets of diff mounting points to choose from with the c6 cradle. I am a 4l60 swap so I had to use the front mounting holes.

Sounds like a serious conversion. I'm guessing this is for a full power train swap?

Kinda, but not really... I swapped the engine a while back, but just decided to go automagic and c6z.
* it does need a cooler, that is just a cover that a diff builder put on it for temp transportation. So I am going to get the pinion cover with the vertical boss that pumps the fluid out.

My 13 C6Z has the cooler and it was made in January so I would venture to say they didn't change the design and that someone took those parts off before you got it.

Okay, so I got a diff cover with the two bungs for the cooler... BUT I see nothing inside my diff that would make the pump itself acutually spin to pump the fluid. I took a pic of the cover with the pump wheel under my diff

Here is the info on the diff or at least that part of the diff

And another pic just for *****.

So now my question is if it was rebuilt by someone, could they have made it to where it doesn't NEED a diff pump? It splined up to my output shaft so at least the pinion is c6z... I dunno but I need some advice. The last thing I want is my diff locking up from no fluid distribution.

If it's a Z06 diff it'll have a sticker on it that says "3.42 Z".

Is this the piece that drives the diff fluid pump?

Hey Roger. Your differential is a C6 Z06/GS diff. Someone has just taken the pump off and plugged the holes. The problem is your rear diff cover/pump is incomplete. It should look like this.

No. From the picture you posted above, the inside of the rear cover should have a "butterfly" that drives the pump. The butterfly fits into the back if the machined part on the pinion gear and operates the pump when the vehicle moves.

So... do you think I should rock it like this... or look for a piece to make my pump work?

It will be just fine without a pump. If you decide to make 1000+rwhp or run 30min+ HPDE or road races I would consider reinstalling the pump.
