Am I getting bent over for these repairs?
I was just quoted these prices at the dealer for my '08 Z:
Power Steering Pressure Line Leaking - $535
Left Rear Axle Seal Leaking - $402
Oil Cooler Lines Leaking - $575
What say you?

You need to get a line item breakdown, then you will see how much you will be paying for the part and labor. If they give you labor totals and quantities, you can see what the labor charge is, that is usually the discriminating factor when you're looking for a shop with decent prices.

Yes on the oil cooler lines. That could be a $10 fix depending on where. Either way that is too much.

If the leak is at a joiner it could just be the "O" ring. It was on my PS and the repair cost me a whole 20c and a $6 spanner to fit the location.
Do it yourself or as the man said get another quote, because I sure as hell would never pay those prices. Sound more like Ferrari or Porka ripoff prices.

Wow that's tuff. Do you have a warranty? I didn't, so it's not quite as tuff as having to replace the BCM, Fuse block, Transmission, Torque Tube, Clutch, Clutch master Cylinder, Brakes, Rotors and Calipers, Tires and Rims, Heads, Gaskets, Plugs and Wires, Rocker Arms, All fluids, Wheel Bearings and maybe a new cam soon. I'm sure I've forgotten a bit more. You would need to sit down to know the cost. Some was done by a dealer and some by a mech who was just barely cheaper.
Repair the car and enjoy. These are great cars but you have to be ready to keep them up.

Like the other guy said, if it isn't under warranty don't go to dealer to fix it. On the other hand you are gonna pay higher prices on a vette, no other way to say it, vettes are expensive. You should try to find a speed shop in your area who can work on your car. I would bet you they will be less expensive to do the work. Good luck and keep us posted.

Got many hits, here's just one: http://www.longislandvettesclub.com/livmain.htm
There're more, go peruse through & find one closest to your locale.
Visited above website, there's a hyperlink used for contacting club Pres. Write asking your question re what independent shops are used/recommended by club members. Club Presidents usually respond fairly fast, has the 2 times I needed abvise anyway.
CCs are always an excellent resource & always glad to help.
Try it.
