Default Easy question: where to stick the Mild to Wild "FOB"

The 2008 Z06 I bought came with Mild-to-Wild, and the controller is a key fob with two buttons.

I currently stick it in the cup holder, but when I want to quickly revert to standard NPP function (i.e. quiet in my residential neighborhood when returning late), I have to dig around for it, then flip it around in one hand to find the right button.

Not a big deal and just takes a second, but i was thinking of affixing the fob somewhere in the car, maybe with some adhesive material, so that I can just reach out and hit the button I want.

Thoughts anyone? This fix bugs me a little, i.e. seems a bit tacky. Do you guys have any other suggestions? I'd rather not switch out my Mild to Wild to another model that could be controlled more easily, looking to stick with what I got.

thanks.

I put it in the ash tray. Double sided tape. Perfect spot.

There was a whole discussion on C6 Gen about it here... though I guess it is more specific to physical switches than a wireless one, but you can see what others were doing.

Not necessarily, IMO anyway.

Depends where you stick it.
Left side under the dash adjacent to light switch would be accessable and out-of-sight. Best part if/when you decide to sell or upgrade removal would be very easy leaving to sign it'd ever been there.

The Mild 2 Wild that came with my 2008 Z06 has the same fob pictured above, i.e. black with two buttons that say "on" and "off."

are you saying that I can somehow program my visor garage buttons to control the system, i.e. without installing any additional hardware?

I believe the earlier versions of the garage door opener were 'Homelink' and those could mimic the M2W remote functionality.

I believe the later ones were called 'Car2U' or something like that, and were unable to mimic the functionality.

I don't remember which year they changed though.

I velcro'd mine inside the "map pocket" on the drivers door (or whatever you wish to call it). It's almost invisible there and always easy to reach. I never use those pockets for anything else, so it was a natural.

I placed a piece of self adhesive velcro to the back of the fob and stuck it to the right of the 12v plug just inside the center console. I think they have this setup pictured on the M2W website. Works nice and is hidden and out of the way yet accessible.

We manufacture an exhaust controller that can be controlled from the 2007-2013 universal visor remote. No Fobs needed!

It is called Exhaust Commander Car2U.

We also have a version that controls the exhaust from the door panel lock button and also your Corette keyfob. No extra remotes needed!
It is called Exhaust Commander Elite.

Ditch your exhaust controller fob and be happy about it!

Ash tray or cup holder no big deal as long as wife doesn't have a coke in the cup holder then it's the ash tray.

Ash tray works great for me. It fits inside it perfectly and I always leave the door open due to having a radar detector plugged in.

I double side taped it to my sun visor. Right in the inside corner by the rear view mirror. Worked great for me. Out of the way and easy to reach.

I went with the "old school" hard wired foot switch. Mostly because I'm old school (i.e. geezer) and remember the foot switches for high beams.

Only hassle I had was stringing the wires over the hump. Son came over and it took a total of about 5 minutes. Total "labor" time involved, about an hour.

I know this pales to the wireless install time but I like it better. I don't have to worry about losing some other gizmo (the fob).

I have a question: does the wireless set up switch go to "wild" automatically when you shut the engine off ? In other words, you have to set it to mild every time you start up. I thought I remembered reading the default was "wild" on the wireless.
