[Z06] Katech hood

In the post above I mentioned it is a Hi-tech Vented hood. Fiberglass. The fit is awesome and one of the best for an aftermarket hood that I have seen. The middle is higher than or hood. Quality is really good!
I bought the car with the hood installed, so I'm not really sure how much effort it took to prep/paint it

Compliments are a 10 as well as functionality. Found a local paint shop to prep and paint it after I installed it the way I wanted it ~ $500. Be ready to drill your hood mounts out to get the bolts to fit . It is suppose to accommodate a SC... I do not have one but some people do.
I would do the same hood all over again.... it is only one that has ever appealed to me.

I got the carbon fiber over fiber glass one. Finished looks are a 10 ... fit and finish are an 8. Hood hits front clip every time it is opened... and has actually popped the front clips off and out a number of times. There is no way to move it back and still hit the latches for a close and get it locked securely.

If it hits the front clip, then just oval out the mounting holes slightly and move it back. No reason to live with that.

My hood used to do that on the passenger side, (not fun to pop out the clips every time you open the hood) if you look closely at my picture, you can see the passenger side sit a little low, I adjusted that up about a 1/4" and now it's perfect. Doesn't make contact.

If it isn't too much trouble, can one of you guys with theHi-tech hood shoot a picture of the underside? I'm interested to see how thevent screens are attached, and how they look. I may try to fix the OEM hoodliner to this one, or do something with the underside if it really looks likecrap.

Thanks! Did you apply the heat shield, or did it come that way? I have not seen it in gold before.
I like the way you and Chris have left the CF look at the vent area. I can't decide which one I prefer.....

Did that already... I think the better play is to carve off the piece of the underside of the hood that is hitting the front as it comes up. IF you go far enough back so it doesn't catch the front clip, it won't hit the latches for a clean close.

Then adjust the latches. It isn't hard to fix that. Latches are easy to adjust. Just move them back. May need to notch them too.

If I didn't live about 5,000 miles away from you, I'd swing by and take that hood off your hands.
