Default Anybody have EXTREME heat problems?

Well I live in Las Vegas and it has been hotter than hell here lately. Today I got in my car and it said 118 degrees . I am finding that my car is not running as it normally does in this heat. Now I know that most cars do not run perfect in these temperatures, so lets not get on that. I am just asking if anybody else is having any issues with it.

Also, my car does have headers and an intake. Runs fantastic otherwise. But right now something is screwy.

The PCM will pull timing if the IAT (intake air temperature) is somewhere above 84 degrees (I don't have the exact figure off the top of my head).

Perhaps it will pull even more timing at some point. It will also pull timing if coolant exceeds a certain temp (again I'm guessing from memory, but say 220F).

Stock tune.

I don't think this would make the car run bad, but it might feel down on power from a cold winter day (which in Vegas I presume would be about 65 degrees ). (j/k, I know it can get cold in the desert)

Well I'll get smacked but this problem has come up from time to time. You could try installing a 160 t stat, changing the coolant and adding water wetter........or.......just drive at night.

I think timing gets pulled at 192 coolant temp? First time the other day my A/C worked poorly sitting in traffic on a hot day.

He didn't say it was running hot, he said it was "not running as it normally does in this heat." OP, can you elaborate a bit?
