To Cut Bushings or Not?
I'm lowered all the way down on stock bolts right now but want a little more maybe 1/2 inch. Should I cut bushings or buy aftermarket bolts? If I cut bushings tho, how much to cut off? And cut off fronts and rear bushings? And yes I know about coilovers but I don't plan on buying a set until next year. Thanks in advance for any inputs

Without the bushings the bolt will begin to cut through the saddle of the control arm. I lowered mine three years ago and got 3/4 "drop bushings left alone.

I hear the aftermarket ones wear out quick but have no first hand experience. I'm all the way down on stock bolts with the first ring cut off. You might try that and see if it's low enough, if not, there are a couple more rings that could be cut off.

I've seen pics of other Z's saying they are lowered all the way on stock bolts but then their car really doesn't look that low. But when I look at mine it looks pretty low for stock bolts. Guess I should just leave it alone and be happy.

I read about that too, am considering buying aftermarket ones I live right by West Coast Corvettes and might buy their bolts but I read on the forum that they wear out super quick.

Cut em off. My mechanic cut the rears and the car ended too low for my taste, I had to raise it. I actually liked how the rear looked before the bushings were cut, so if it were me, just cut the fronts.

A word of caution, if you cut them and don't like it or they make noise, and some have, you can't buy factory adjusting bolts w/o buying new springs.

maybe my car is just a fluke but I can only fit 1.5 fingers between my fender and tire, frontand rear.. its pretty fn low.. stock bolts, lowered all the way.
I wouldnt cut the bushings or go with aftermarket bolts, from what Ive read..

What spacers are you talking about?
Id love to meet up after you have the work done to compare yours vs mine on stock bolts (not far from you)

I go down to the Irvine Cars and Coffee every other weekend. There's always a few Z's there
What are you trying accomplish with the spacers? Does pushing the wheels out reduce some wheel gap?
