2011 Carbon Edition Hood - discoloration
I have a Supersonic Blue 2011 Carbon Edition Z - #172. The carbon fiber hood paint is a slight shade off from the rest of the car. Has anyone else noticed this with the OEM carbon fiber hoods??
I'm wondering how hard it would be to match the SSB color. Thinking of getting an aftermarket CF hood to replace it with a closer match...
Thanks,
Drew

Mine matches. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just repaint your carbon fiber hood?
Maybe it could be covered under warranty?

That should be covered under the B2B 3/36 warranty. Any competent dealer body shop should be able to match the color. Why pay when you can get it for free. Well not really for free, you paid for the repairs ahead of time since the warranty cost was included in the cost of the car.

I hear what your sayin, and appreciate your opinion.
I've got a couple of thoughts though. I've NEVER seen an aftermarket paint shop equal or match OEM paint. Maybe I've just had bad luck. Second, I'd kinda like to keep the original hood the way it is. I've seen some other Carbon Edition hoods that did the same, but have never read about it on here. Was thinking of making lemonade from lemons - been looking at the Halltech Dred carbon hood, which has the reverse heat extracting vent and is lighter than the OEM carbon fiber hood.

I don't know about the Carbon hoods but the ZR hoods come to the assembly plant already painted.
Most are not a spot on match, but close enough not to notice unless you knew to look for it.
