Engine Oil Temp Freaky
Hey All,
I was wondering if anyone had this problem before. Engine oil temp is going up and down quite frantically whilst driving. Engine oil pressure is not changing while engine oil temp is freaking out and it is really easy to see which values are correct. Lets say I am drving normally engine oil temp is around 170F it will go down to 165 then shoot back up to 170 then go 228 sometimes even 252. My engine oil temp harness had been rerouted but it was quite sometime ago, I am wondering if anyone had this problem before?
PS I already changed the Sensor, didnt do any good.

I don't think so. Better go back and have a really good look at that harness... but you knew that already, right?
Same for the connector itself... any looseness or corrosion (probably unlikely).
Lord only knows what electronics are involved in getting that reading to the instrument panel... good luck!

I haven't seen that either, but second the vote for connectors (and grounds). After that, probably shooting the wires, or you can try wiggling them with someone watching to see if a change happens.
