I bought my 1st Vette this week. 08 with 14k. Ordered the Kooks/Halltech combo from MSP and it has the mild/wild. I will have my tuner do his thing as well. I want to keep it simple. Anything else I need look into? Thanks

Nice looking car! I ended up with one just like it. The previous owner put on a Procharger P-1SC-1, and a Borla cat back. Otherwise it is stock.

Long story short, correcting the valve guide issue involves removing the heads, new guides installed and new valves. Some would say new valve springs too as those have been know to break and drop a valve. Do a search for wiggle test and start from there.

I picked up my silver Z a few weeks ago as well. 2lz car and looks the exact same as yours.

Sweet ride.

Consider clear bra.

wish you had read up on the valve guide issue prior to purchasing, but no worries. (okay, maybe a little worry). Nothing that $2000 won't alleviate.

Z06 is simply a beast.

I bought a full warranty on the car because I had heard about the valve issue. Thought it was more of a 06-07 issue thou. Thanks for all the input guys and compliments. It's a absolute blast.

GMPP I hope? I read that it was 08 and up, but reading threads upon threads upon threads, it seems like its 06 and up. Still waiting on the new 427s though. None the less, these cars are amazing.

Make sure your warranty covers anything you are planning to do to the car

...a lesson I also learned the hard way my friend.

An old neighbor of mine, an older gentleman (car enthusiast), approached me years ago after he notice my black 69 convertible in my drive way. After talking a while he asked if that was the first black car I had owned. I responded "yes." He then smiled a bit and stated that it would be the first and last black car that I would ever own. He was right....never again.

OP, when your car still looks new 5 years from now, you will love silver even more.
