Default Houston, TX valve repair

Are there any reputable dealerships or mechanics in or around Houston that are knowledgeable about the valve guide issue and willing or able to complete the necessary repairs.

If your car is still under warranty, go see Russell Casteel at Mack Haik Chevrolet on the Katy Fwy.
There have been a few threads by CF members who had their LS7 heads/valve work done there.

If you're out-of-warranty, go see Terry Wallace at VettTech in Katy.

FWIW, I use both of these shops as required.

G-L with your repairs.

Thanks for the info. I want a knowledgeable dealership to check them for me because I will be the first to say I'm not at all mechanically inclined!

I haven't dealt with the valve issue yet, but another vote for Russel, he is a class act.

Another vote for Terry at Vette-tech out in Katy. I would go to him way before going to a dealership unless it's a warranty issue.

Out Katy way you cant go wrong with either Vette-tech or Bumberra's.

Parkway used to have a good Vette mechanic but he has left.

Kneel.

Not in Houston but Darin Morgan at Reher Morrison Racing Engines is in Arlington. Not a horrible drive to access a shop who's got an entire wall dedicated to just trophies they've earned from winning various racing championships.

England Green did mine, was out of warranty and wanted to get the heads/intake all done up. No complains and dyno at 489rwhp, with a tune.

That is correct. And Russell Casteel is the service advisor to speak with. Mac Haik replaced the heads on Z.06's car last spring all under power train warranty.

Default Valve Guide Repair

Still running fine after > 2500 more miles with new sodium-filled exhaust valves and OEM PM guides as well. I recommend Russ Casteel and Mac Haik Chevrolet.

Z.06

Took my car to Mac Haik..Service writer was Duy, who goes by "G". The day after I dropped it off, heads were off car and getting ready to be shipped out for replacement. 2 days before power train warranty expired.
