Now they're saying another month and a half, so either certain phone reps are more informed than others, or they are having issues with their valve supplier.

Looks like I'll likely be going another route unless someone else can find out a true release date soon.

I think this is bad information. The center bore to valve seat could be fixed, but in some cases, with some of the wear data we have seen, I believe the machining would be very expensive.

I can't see what would be very expensive about:

1) touching up the valve seats to correct the misalignment using the existing valve guide bores as a guide as long as they are in good or new condition, or

2) simply replacing the valve guides and using the existing seats at a centerline for reaming them without any misalignment.

When the amount of machining error (valve guide - valve seat misalignment) that has been mentioned during informal internet discussions, it is usually estimated in the area of .004 - .005 which is not, AFAIK, a huge amount to correct for. Or even double that, for that matter.

Or did you have something else in mind?
.

I gave up. Just had my OEM heads redone by American Heritage and moved on to breaking other parts of the car.

I check Trickflow's website every few months, but AFAIK, they're still not available yet.

That makes it nearly 8 months waiting on valves. Is there one guy making them by hand, using 18th century tools or something?

The description only says "stainless steel valves". If they are solid, that intake is going to be a porker.

I'm sure they are...but a good thing you can buy them bare and install the stock ti and any exhaust valve that you want. I'm glad I wanted because I was about to pull the trigger on a AI port work.

Flow numbers

I haven't looked up the pricing on these trickflow heads but i did look at the flow sheet that was posted on these heads and i must say:
they dont flow any better than our American Heritage Ported Package 4 heads. Flow numbers between ours and the trickflow heads are pretty damn close.

A set of our package 4 heads with added porting and polishing is only $1,858 (reworking your cores) or $2,958 if you want to purchase a set outright.
Just something to think about.

No, I didn't want their ****** stainless intake valves. I ordered coated titanium intakes with hardened tips and inconel exhaust valves

Right around 2,600. How big are your intake cambers once you port 'em?

I believe the "as cast" LS7 head is around 270cc's on the intakes……..
The Trick Flows are making very good numbers with extremely high velocity. Numbers are never the whole story.

I would guess a ported LS7 head is going to be around 280cc's.
