Default 427 "Cooksey" Z06 #302 Journal

Decided that a journal would be the best way to keep track of info, photos, modifications and any future mods to our Z06, so here it is.

I ran across other forum members' threads and found them very helpful when researching different mods, so maybe this will be of some use to others in the future.

Most current photo:

Current mods:
  • ZR1 style front splitter (carbon fiber from RPI)
  • ZR1 style side rockers (carbon fiber from RPI)
  • ZR1 style rear spoiler (painted black from RPI)
  • Lowering bolts (from ZIP)
  • 1/2" longer wheel studs (from DRM)
  • Wheel spacers (3/8" front, 1/4" rear from DRM)
  • Tinted windows (20% from Robert's in Louisville)

About the car:

We bought the car May 8, 2008 in Indianapolis. It is a fully loaded 2008 Corvette Z06 427 Special Edition "Will Cooksey" #302/505.

This limited edition was made to commemorate the 427 cubic inch engine returning to the Corvette since 1969, and to also honor Wil Cooksey and his retirement. Cooksey was the Corvette Assembly Plant manager for 15 years, which is the longest in Corvette history. The 427 edition includes the following:
  • 505 Limited Edition Vehicles (427 in the United States)
  • Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat
  • Spider Design Chrome Wheels
  • Exclusive Dark Titanium Leather Wrapped Interior
  • Leather Trim Armrest Signed & Numbered By Wil Cooksey
  • Unique Crystal Red Graphic Pattern Center Trim Plate
  • Body Colored Door Handles and Spoiler
  • 427 Hood Badges
  • 427 Seat & Floormat Embroidery
  • Z06 Sill Plates
  • Special Stinger Hood and Fascia Stripe

Very nice Z...what are the 1/2" longer wheel studs and spacers for?

Thanks! The studs and spacers were to get stock wheels to come out a little closer to the fender and get rid of some of the gap. It was very slight but in combo with the lowering bolts it was noticeable. I got the idea from this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...l-spacers.html

Looking good

Crystal red looks great in person and seems to be hard to capture on camera, but the shots look great too. Compliments to the photographer.

Almost bought one in Huntsville 4 years ago but the owner backed out after we had agreed on a deal.

ALWAYS loved the WCZ06

Beautiful ride!

You forgot to block out your license plate like so many others do.
Now that I know yours, I'm still not sure what I could possible do with it!

lol I thought about blurring it out or something but I figured wherever I drive or park it people see it anyway. But if for some reason the car disappears or my identity is stolen bc of this, then I know where to trace it back to

Thanks, I definitely agree with you on that! Red is always so hard not to make look like orange or pink

That's unfortunate. My wife was born actually born in Huntsville. Looks like you ended up with a sweet Z anyway by your avatar. I've always liked yellow, I think bc of the C6.R

Good to see 274 and 139 on the forum!

Sonkist - sorry if it's a dumb question, but what's H/C/I?

I never quite understood that thinking... The plate is on the back of your car for all the public to see all the time. What's the point of obscuring it in photos?
