Default Where did you install your wideband sensor in your headers?

I am using American Racing Headers and want to install a wideband bung on each side. Does anyone have pictures of the header and perhaps a wideband while installed? I am not sure where to weld in the bungs and want to be sure the sensors will fit without hitting anything.

I have not done this to a set of headers for a Vette, but my F-body project got the additional bung cut in at the collector. The headers I used had plenty of room for it and I just used a plug to block it after tuning.

ARH comes with a bung on the X-pipe.

Hmmm I just got it and will unbox it to look at it. I am planning to run dual widebands so I can see each side.

ARH has a bung, or you can just use the rear o2 sensor bungs. Just put mine in today. Why dual? The bung is at the crossover portion so both sides are mixed. If you want duals I guess you would want the bungs up before the crossover to try to see a difference in sides.

Yes I will need them ahead of the crossover (and cats). I need to see some pics of the headers installed from underneath the car, so I can make sure there is space available to thread the sensor in.

Most headers come with 4 bungs for the 4 o2 sensors. Most people only use the front two o2 sensors and turn off the rear after a tune. So the rears are available for the wideband. That is before the x pipe and may be a better spot for reading the mixture.

You can barely see the bung in the X-pipe in this image:

The bung is shown above in the tire area. Passenger side X. I really don't think there is room in front of that.

Those rear O2 bungs are after the X-pipe and more importantly, the cats- this will not work for me. I want the widebands ahead of the cats. They need to be added. I am thinking they should go just after the first flange, a few inches ahead of the x-pipe bung before the exhaust merges. But will there be room on the car? And at what angle? I want to do this in advance as I am having the headers coated before installing.

No room there unless they point straight down but first bump you go over they will get ripped off.

Damn! What about right behind the front O2 sensors?

Front o2 sensor is tight to the tunnel plate/motor/etc. I had to put the header in then screw the o2 in because it wouldn't go in with the o2 already. They would have to be touching.

Why do you need two widebands there? Seems like a giant waste of time/money.

Widebands are cheap these days. My friend will weld in the bung for nothing. Both will wire directly into the HUD via my DashLogic, so no gauges required at all. This setup will allow monitoring at a higher level of resolution, so to speak, and will also help with tuning and trouble shooting.

What response will I get when I want to add 8 EGT sensors on my headers? I SHOULD do it now before the coating if I plan to... I have this setup on my Honda S2000, but it is only four sensors, and my KPro ECU has plenty of inputs. I am not sure how I would be able to use them on the Z06. Can I assume there is no individual cylinder tuning available in the tuning software for these cars...? (my first non-import!).

Not with the factory ECU. If you go with something like a proefi or haltech you can do that.

I know they are cheap, but I don't see any advantage when you can't do anything about it to running 2 instead of 1 in the x just back a little. Use the dash logic to watch other things than worry about left and right wideband IMO.
