Default Got new headers - x/pipe Can I wait a couple of months for a tune?

I just bought some Melrose LT headers w/catted X-Pipe. Current mod is only a MF103 CAI (no tune). I am planning on getting my heads/cam done later this summer. I am wondering if it would be ok to install these now without a tune. My plan would be to do a dyno tune done when I have the rest of my work done later this summer.

Thoughts guys?

Yes you can install those without a tune and you shouldn't have any issues.

Maybe. I would at least take the 10 minutes and get it logged to make sure it isn't running lean or pinging. No need for a tune for that. You will probably get CE lights for cats so just be aware of that.

Forgot to mention the check engine light. My 02 Z06 had CE issues when I had the LT's and mid pipe installed until I had it tuned. At least with the C5's you could reset the light yourself.

Thanks for the responses. I just want to make sure that I wont have any issues. I probably will be doing normal street driving for a couple of months.

Sorry didn't read the whole thing, with an intake, headers, and and mids I might go ahead and get a tune, most shops won't charge you heavily for the second tune.

If you are going to put the parts on, then not floor it, why not just leave the parts off until heads/cam is done? That is what I would do. No point in risking it. It "should" be ok but it may not be.

You will have a Check engine lite go on.. for sure. You will have to have
it tuned.. however it will mess with you're warranty....
