Default PSI LS1511 Valve Springs, who's using them

After doing a lot of research and seeing Katech's results with the PSI beehive spring, I plan to use these springs for Valve train stability, and I want to get everyone's thoughts.

I'm going to use the stock titanium intake And Ferrea hollow stem exhaust valve (85 grams). Cam is a mild one with a slow ramp and .639 lift on both sides. I plan to set the install height at 1.80, seat pressure is 130# open at 370#. Coil bind will be around .61 according to Jeff at PSI.

Just want to get everyone's thoughts on the setup and who else is running a similar setup.

Better wording would be that you will be within .061 of coil bind with that lift and that spring at that install height. Which sounds fine.

I think they're great springs -- lightest thing on the market, quality ovate wire, no reports of failures

Great spring and what I tend to recommend to those who can run them. If my total lift would allow it, that's what I'd be running. Not that you asked.... but Xceldyne makes a good Ti retainer for that spring too. You can get them from CV products....

Did you get you a 427 vert? Last I recall, you were on the hunt for one?? I take it with your renewed interaction on this site lately, you got yourself a new baby (or mistress)?

Well I can say that of my 25,000 miles, 22,000 of them have been cammed using these springs. After 17k on the first set, my guides were perfectly in spec. I believe this had a lot to do with the way katech set the car up, so I am a fan of these springs 13 dyno pulls, 120 drag passes, 45 highway pulls and 2 track days later all while power ranged from 513-546 rwhp as it sits today.

I have them in my Katech Stage 1 with a Torquer 110+4.
Using OEM intake and exhaust valves.
Many track days and 40K miles .. no problems.

LOL, you were close I actually got married in November. I'm waiting on my tax return to come in this week and pay off the credit cards and the wedding. My target date to get the car is July or August. It's been a long time coming I been on this form from the years.

Does CV products have the seats too? Jason said they use a larger seat for this spring with the bronze guide. I will check them out today thank you for the heads-up!

Could you tell us the rest of your cam specifications? Are you having any other work done to the heads, porting, bronze guides, etc?

228/238 115+4 .639 lift, i've been working on the cam specs with Patrick G, the cam is cut by Cam motion, the lobes slow ramping with a soft landing. IVO at -3 IVC at 45°, EVO at 58°, EVC at 0.

The heads will be ported with CHE bronze guides and milled .040 for a 11.9:1 SCR, 9.0 DCR, i'm designing the motor to make low-end torque great drivability.

I really like Patrick, we definitely have the same philosophy when it comes to cam design, longevity, great drivability, and power under the curve. I would never design a cam without his input along with Kip at Cam Motion.

You had your install done at HPA, right? Great place to do business. Does your setup include longtubes?
