Not really a contest, but here's a funny story...

Headed back home from our Corvette club meeting with my wife in the passenger seat. Keep in mind, she's not a fan of me racing the Z06. But we pull up to a light, and a couple of college kids pull up next to us in a good old Black and Gold Smokey Trans Am. Obvious motor work, loud with a good lope at idle. I don't even look over. My wife does. The light changes, and I ease off the clutch. Then the TA dumps it. Gets even with my door, and I hear my wife kind of giggle - you know the laugh, the humph, Really? Giggle. So I interpret that as permission... Clutch was already all the way out, so I just stepped on the skinny pedal and powered (with a little smoke) through first, and then power shifted into second before I let off. Looked back, and they were 4-5 car lengths behind us. Looked over at my wife and she was laughing so hard she was crying. That was her first time to feel full throttle in the Z06. Fun, and she liked it too!

We share mates who are alike, funny I always get a reaction when I get into it; I always try to lift near the speed limit.

My buddy just imported his black series Gozilla (gtr) from the states, so we were eager to compare the two. Him: dp's, racepipe, cai, tune. Me: headers, xpipe, cai, headjob, tune. We ran 60-160mph on the autobahn, and i pulled about a car lenght in each gear... He is now getting bigger turbos. Then on the way back home i ran into beetle (997.2 turbo s)... So we went to unlim autobahn to have some fun... We didnt line up, but just did some sprints. I have to say that car is faster than godzila, but not faster than the kong, i was able to edge on him. Also, in turns he was hesitant o go more than 160mph, i had no problems at 170-180, even took a turn at 190. kong always wins!

Or if you're really worried spend a couple grand on a AAA or CNA warranty if GMPP extensions aren't available.

Just fire the cost into your budget and don't worry about it.

Is that good enough for you?
Yeah I have the exact same problem. They just don't make street tires that can hold 630 HP to the ground, even rolling gently into the throttle with brand new Michelin Super Sports.

Hmm, I was goofing around with a new Lambo Aventador on the highway. Backed off once I realized I was going 135 for safety reasons, my wife looked over at me and called me, well a slang term for a cat.

What I do want is a nice positive "I roasted a Lambo today" story...or maybe a Gt500....anything!
Heck, even if you took it out today to get grocery's!

Tickle my ears
As I've said many, many times. With the exception of the exhaust valve issue, these cars are absolutely bulletproof and amazing to drive.

I have many, many cars try to race me but I ignore them because it just wouldn't be a challenge at all.

The only cars I've even toyed with are a new C7 and some very expensive supercar imports.

Sorry, but that car would ruin any of our Z's.

It's what you get for spending $400,000-800,000.

I had just tucked in behind him to cruise fast, he was cruising about 100 to start. He apparently thought I was trying to race him and took off. By the time I realized I was in a race it was already too late, like I said I looked down and saw I was doing 135 and backed off.

Not saying I coulda kept up, but I'm not stock. It would have been interesting to go against him knowing I was in a race.

BTW - I'm sure this won't shock anyone, but he was apparently on his way to Miami.

Not really. A 600rwhp Z should beat it from 60-160/170ish

I wonder if that was a stock Z06??? Doesn't sound like stock exhaust. It sounded louder that just open baffles....

Any car can be made to be "fast" with endless mods. Very few stock cars are Lamborghini fast.

I am a huge Fan of the Lamborghini marque and have many friends that own them. I have ridden in many twin turbo gallardos and a few twin turbo murcielagos, and I have a sincere love for these cars.

You were replying in one of your last posts saying "it would ruin any of our Z's," to a guy with a 630rwhp Z. All I was saying is that it will not ruin all of our Z's, in fact the guy you had replied to should ruin an Aventador. A stock 2006 Z06 will ruin a stock 2004 gallardo, and will beat a 2006 gallardo. A 2006 murcielago is a drivers race from a roll with a stock 2006 z06. From a dig Z06 wins.

So our cars are faster, although to your point a Lamborghini is a 1000% nicer.

New lambos are faster until the new z comes out.

The sound, the feel and the experience are nothing I'd ever want to give up!
