Default Will 17" c5z06 front wheels fit c6z06 front brakes?

Im really trying to see if my stoptech front brakes are bigger then stock..
Right now I run a 18x6 weld rts for the strip.. Thinking about going to the 17" alum light weight wheel but Im not so sure it would clear my stoptechs bc I dont know if they are bigger then stock..

Just for the hell of it I tried bolting up my c5 z06 front wheels to my c6z06 front and it wouldnt clear.. if they clear stock brakes my stoptechs are larger then stock and I cant run a 17" front without spacers..

valuable input would be greatly appreciated!!

No they will not. 18 is the smallest on C6Z brakes. Pretty sure the 17 will clear on the rear though.

Weld RTS' are available in a high pad height which allows the 17x5 wheels to fit over the stock C6Z calipers.

Weld rts are the only ones actually made to fit the c6z.. The other wheels only come in skinnies 4.5 wide I believe and they need spacers to clear the fronts.

Alumastars fit with a 1" spacer on the front... They only come in 1 offset... I've had them on my car... Now I don't know if they fit over your aftermarket brakes... These are 17x4.5...

Depending upon how serious you are about running quick at the track, there is a different solution. Since the whole reason for running skinnies is to reduce weight, you can use 17" GTO spare wheels and M&H bias skinnies without spacers, if you use base brakes. You'll save 98# over stock just on the front alone and an estimated 16# more on the rear. Not only is the benefit weight reduction, it's almost entirely rotating weight. Because the majority comes off the front, the weight transfer upon launch provides additional traction ability. You'll still be able to make the first turnoff if you're in a hurry to pick up the timeslip.

The whole combo will be good for somewhere between .15 and .20 just for the weight alone. It's double the weight savings at half the price of Weld wheels.

If appearance is more important, keep in mind that there are no bonus points on a timeslip no matter how good it looks.

Thanks for the posts guys..
I was just brainstorming bc I had a few people make offers on my current drag set..
Ive got the weld rts polished 18x6/17x11 setup, and Ive got a set of the 17x9.5 c5 z06 for a second rear drag set..
Just brainstorming.. if i were to sell my 18x6/17x11 setup I could go with the 17/15 setup I know its not needed, but why not ha
