Would the concerns about heavier springs be mitigated by different springs (conical, beehive) and lighter retainers?

I have SS exhaust valves in my PRC265 heads running their standard dual coil springs that can handle .675 lift, with my stock LS7 cam.

PSI springs and whatever retainers they came with. Redline is no problem - about 5k miles so far.

Look at the Katech testing. If you consider this current gospel then any spring selection isn't going to put you in much trouble with a stock cam. Relying solely on these examples it appears to me the PSI beehives dealt better than the duals in the cammed example and therefore should also be better with ss valves and the stock cam. However most of the fixes out there seem to be with duals and if there are failures related to this, we aren't hearing much about them. If you have to exceed redline to get real instability that is probably why.

There are several reported failures related to that -- spring failures (broken duals). But since it doesn't make the engine explode everyone seems to think it is normal, or at least 'okay'.

I wonder if anyone is using the stock valve springs with SS valves on the stock cam?
