Door sill removal and installation
Hey guys I just bought my dream car C6 Z06. I am in the midst of starting to put it back together. The door sill that was on the car (or what was left of it) I removed but there seems to be some sort of adhesive the factory used. A) what can I use to remove this adhesive and B) where do I buy some new stuff to put my new door sill in place.
The help is really appreciated.

try either WD40 or Goo-Gone product, use only a plastic scraper. Other option is gently with a hair dryer and plastic scraper

This is the complete door sill that starts behind the door hinges and continues down below to the floor and then back up to the rear quarter panel. I took the rear quarter panel off and then with force and an exacto blade cut through the stuff to get what was left of that fiber glass shell off. This is some tough stuff for WD 40 or goo be gone.
Do you know of anything stronger that would get the stuff thats left on the aluminum frame off?

sorry, I mis-understood the scope then.

You need to go to an autobody supply shop and they can sell you the specific adhesive.
To remove the old stuff, a light hit with a grinder will take it off. Some people use a hammer and chisel to chip the biggest stuff off first. Just be careful around the frame rail.

A small controllable grinder. Remember that the chassis is aluminum. Just go slow and you'll get it cleaned up. Talk to a auto body shop supplier to make sure you get the same adhesive to put the new one back on with. The product will adhere to aluminum and fiberglass.

A Dremel corded rotary tool should be just what you need for the task.

Here is some info on replacing the panel. Suggested adhesives are included. Looks like you need to use heat to get the old stuff off.
