Center Console Gets "HOT"
I just left a local Chevy dealer after spending $200.00 to have them remove my console and place insulation underneath to supposedly keep the center console from getting extremely hot. It gets so hot my iphone overheats and my ipod cuts off due to temperature readings.
I was thinking of putting a thin layer or rubber (like a mouse pad) inside to help "buffer" the heat.
Any suggestions?

Ordering mine this coming week. Anything to alleviate some of the heat in there. Man it gets HOT.

Melting Slicks
Here's another good solution. Pricey. For this price I would rather buy thermo wrap instead.

In an effort to make it better I bought and installed Elite Engineering's insulated tunnel plate. I noticed minimal improvement. I then added insulation around the shifter lower box. Still little to no help.
When I saw the Hinson thermal blanket I thought this is the answer. My engine builder agrees, however, his opinion is it could be longer. He suggests a custom blanket manufactured by a Cincinnati firm. Am taking his advise. Will report on it's effectiveness.
Hoping no need to make payments. lol
