Uh... the finished hole can change anytime the CNC machine is changed, reset, replaced, or reprogrammed.

I never said anything about putting the old guide in a lathe [....]
Neither did I. Are you sure you're replying to the correct post?

Kohle is working on my heads now! Looking forward to driving without fear of dropping a valve.

Dropped a car off with Kohle yesterday! Having Kohle explain and show my wife what the valve guide issue is all about with actual hardware that was out of spec helped soften the blow for her on why we need to spend almost another $3k on a car right after we bought it.

He even gives restaurant recommendations! El Pollo Inka was excellent! Thanks!

Just picked up my car on Friday. Kohle told me that all but 1 valve was out of spec. I drove it all weekend and it feels great. I'll report back after a couple thousand miles to see how things feel then.

Thanks again for the great work Kohle!

Just picked up my car this morning. Because the car has basically no miles on it (2006 with ~6500 miles) it would be obvious if anything was done messily and it was just as showroom perfect inside, outside and in the engine bay as the day I bought it (~2 months ago). Kohle has an attention to detail and cleanliness that a lot of mechanics I've known just don't have.

In case anyone cares, all of the valves were out of spec (from a little (0.0008") to a bit more than twice spec). There's been some talk on the forum about the validity of certain kinds of tests and I don't want to get into that here, but suffice it to say, when the engine is warmed up now, the valve-train noise is noticeably quieter. That, in and of itself, says a lot to me. There is no difference when cold, before or after.

For me, this was worth it for piece of mind alone.

Thanks again Kohle.
