Default LS7 camaro VS TTZ06

I have a question, maybe stupid one

How a LS7 Fbody gets 9.9

and a TT Z06 gets 9.9 !!!

Is it about weight ? driver ? more mods on the ls7 in the camaro !?

I don't know what mods on that camaro but the z06 mods are below :

DSX Tuning's TT C6Z
The ONLY T42 4L80e in a C6Z! Full factory style integration.
427ci LSX block
TTix twin turbo kit
Precision 6265 turbos
93 octane
Alky Control meth kit

Same track same day? Otherwise, apples and oranges. Weather conditions play a big role in 1/4 mile times (not to mention track prep or lack thereof). You would also need to look at the torque curve of the TT car to see where it's making its power.

Also, look at the difference in the tires and the ability to transfer weight to the rear. The Camaro definitely has the advantage there, so traction is an issue here, too. I guarantee that Camaro has a much lower 60' time. Gearing is also something to think about. Sooo many factors aside from the dyno numbers.

That's Ryan Marler's camaro... Its got some motor work and a 100 shot... Car is geared perfect for the 1/4... He's in 4th gear by the 1/8 mile...

I think that was his first pass @ the track... Still needs some seat time to dial it in some should be a lot faster!

It's called "shakedown" for a reason. That was leaving off idle with an extremely tight torque converter that doesn't flash up at all, so there's a lot of lag off the line. You can see how soft the car leaves, as it would only cut a 1.8 60'. The car went 10.1 and 9.9 @ 145mph on the 800whp setting, and went 9.7 @ 155mph on the 900whp setting. The car doesn't have a trans brake and was stalled tight to make it a more streetable car.

Ryan's car (who is actually my customer) is a six speed car with spray doing somewhere around 670-700whp on the nitrous. He drops the clutch hard, and his 60' shows it.

I don't know where you're pulling the 1300hp thing from.

Sounds reasonable when 100 shot is used. They should have mentioned the mods.

My bad , I mixed up the HP for other video. IF it was built to be more streetable why he swapped to an auto trans ? Wouldn't a manual be better ?

It's my car, and I put an auto in because it makes a turbo car a hell of a lot faster. I wanted a tight stall because it's not a track car.

Apples to Oranges is definitely a valid answer here. You also need to consider that the power adder in the Vette is turbo chargers which need hot exhaust gas flow to get them spinning. The parasitic load of the auto transmission will help with this, it's the reason the Solstice GXP is faster in auto then manual.

Superchargers solve the issue by being directly driven without delay, however not as efficient.

Also, F-bodies/Mustangs and solid axles cars are a lot easier to setup for drag and hook. My mustang runs mid 11s at 115-116mph. My vette ran mid 11s at 125-127mph. Mustang is a lot easier to hook. Same thing with a fbody. You have a huge variety of gears, shocks, solid axle/etc just for drag racing. Fbody is on a 15" hoosier compared to a 18" drag radial.
