Wasn't there a warranty for the heads issue? And I read about the issue either coming up within 10k miles or so, or you wont have it. So much contradictory BS on here!! ugh!

Furthermore;
If a car makes it through even a fraction of the 100k mile warranty, it is built properly and will have a complete service life.
As far as excessive noise mentioned, it doesn't have to be excessive but more-so not normal or unusual.
If your car is under warranty stop fretting a go enjoy each drive.
If your car is modified you run the risk of spending your own dime for repair, no news here.

You can forget most of that. You'll need to have the heads checked and repaired immediately if needed.
Most that are checked need repair.
There is a recent thread of an apparent dropped valve in a 59K mile car, so there ya go. See https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ds-butttt.html but I wouldn't bother with reading much more than the first post (it goes downhill pretty quick; usual suspects).
No warranty for the heads issue other than the standard GM warranty (assuming the car has not been modified or raced, GM and dealer may or may not be more generous) and maybe an aftermarket warranty (some cover it, some may not).

Just figure add $3k or so to get it fixed. Just needs to be taken into account. These are not cheap cars to own. Tires, brakes, fluids, valve guides, oil changes, etc all wear and need replaced to keep the car operating at factory levels. If you can't or don't want to deal with that stuff on a regular basis, a different car maybe best.

Don't let these nay sayers get to ya man. There is a certain risk of dropping a valve in any 500 + horsepower car. We just don't hear about dodge or Ford or the europeans cause we ain't on there forums wirch hunting.

Strange. My 2012 5.0 went 12.2@115 with $600 in mods, and now goes mid 11s n/a with just a bit more. If you can't go deep 10s with a blower you have an issue. I have a c6z and a 2012 GT, and I like the GT WAY WAY WAY more than the c6z. Especially if you are into straight line racing. If you want to auto-x/road course, then get a c5z and go crazy doing it.
I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this made me laugh pretty hard as I thought it was the start of a joke.
C6Z>Any Mustang I've ever encountered

I'm not the first. I know a few others that feel the same way. It all depends on what you want out of the car. I know someone that went from c6z to boss 302 and couldn't be happier.
Just like there are people who prefer the Camaro to vette. Friend just went from a 800rwhp c6 vette to a ZL1 and loves it.

Seems you have conquered fear.
Please update with what ever you come up with.
On the sales tax side of things, you should only pay on the dollar difference between the cars(like IL). Some dealers will try to charge the full amount of the car you are buying & pocket the difference.

If the vette was the end all best car like some people believe, no one would buy anything else. Cars like ZL1, CTSV, Mustangs, Etc all exist because they all do some thing better, and others not as well. Mustang is modded, and is a ton of fun. I like the interior more. Seats are more comfy. Interior is quieter. Rides nicer. Huge fan of the auto. I'll never have another 500+rwhp car without an auto. From a performance aspect, yes the z06 kills the stang in most ways, but for a daily driver, that doesn't matter. For a weekend toy, I'll take the vette, for a car I have to live with and if I only could have 1 car, it would be no question the mustang. In fact I would probably take a CTSV or similar I only had to have 1 fun car.
