[Z06] Katech Cam+exhaust dyno results

Katech Cam+exhaust dyno results
I recently purchased an 08 z06, velocity yellow, before I bought the car I obviously saw that it had been to katech (corvette emblems had katech inlays, and plaque under the arm rest indicated it had been to katech). I then opened the hood and saw katech valve covers and their MSD relocation kit. The car appeared to be stock other than the cam (later verified to be a torquer 110) and kooks longtubes. Intake manifold (painted to match the car) along with air intake was stock.
The car seemed to drive a bit off. Drivability was questionable, and you could tell it was pig rich. My guess was that the previous owner had either a fast 102+aftermarket intake and decided to put it to stock before selling it. Within the first week I had it I purchased Halltech Killer Bee intake for it, and it seemed to have smoothed out the idle a bit, further confirming my suspicion that the previous owner put the stock intake on before selling it. Well its been two weeks since I bought the car and today we had it on the dyno.
Here is the overview of the mods the car has, nothing has been changed during the runs other than the tune:
-Katech Torquer 110
-Kooks longtubes paired with an X pipe to stock mufflers
-Stock intake manifold
-Halltech Killer Bee intake
-Stock heads
-Stock throttle body (appears to be anyway)
First pull with unknown tune it put down:
470rwhp
Second pull there was some added timing, and leaned it out a hair and started correcting the tune:
505.9 rwhp and 479.7 rwtq
Third pull had more corrections and added even more timing:
520rwhp 490rwtq
Fourth pull we saw that there was not enough timing still and that we could lean it out a bit more:
535rwhp 504 rwtq.
Later we went out for a street tune and verified that the car was driving great and was still safe. Overall I am happy that the car put down 535rwhp with just a cam and exhaust and an air intake.

Nice graph! Sweet torque curve! Congrats on the C6Z!

Burning Brakes
Great gains! That's what Im talking about ~65RWHP gain with a properly tuned combo over a "meh" tune!

So they built only 72 katech packaged cars? I thought it would be more. Oh well I guess it's a bit rarer

Took the car to the track
So I took the car to the 1/4 mile track. I only had one pass before they closed and It was a flop. I knew I couldn't launch it with regular street tires as it burns the 1st and some of 2nd gear off on the street, my sole goal was to see how high it would trap rolling it off the line with no launch. I ended up backing off way early and got on my brakes at 113mph as it got very wobbly from side to side because we dropped the pressure far too low. With a 2.0 60 foot on the street tires I backed off at 113, and made a 11.9 pass with the car. Pretty impressed, next time I won't drop the pressure so low, and I'm sure low 11s are possible with no launch/minimal launch

Katech is still building them. Mine is #69 and it was done this past June. I agree with Don T, give Jason a call. He can tell you what the car had when it left their shop.

Very nice! My car has an LS7, long tubes, a small cam, K&N, and identical dyno numbers to yours. My best 1/4 time is 10.6@132 in a heavier car (z51), plus a roll cage. With some seat time and stick street tires, you will be able to run low 11's for sure.
