Default Cam Swap Question

When doing the cam swap do I need to replace the water pump gaskets and the timing cover gasket?

Need to? Maybe not, should do, yes. It isn't worth saving $20 to have to redo a lot of work.

Pretty much what everyone else said, if the cars low mileage and fairly new you usually can, I always take a close looks and feel for the rubbers pliability and if it looks good then I reuse. But for the price of the gaskets why not go ahead and replace is what I say.

The WP gaskets are like $3.60 and the front cover is like $20. If you are that cheap, I would avoid doing a cam and look for a better job before modding a corvette.

Not asking because I'm cheap ...I asked because I didn't know.

Well it is kind of funny but I guess I can understand if someone just doesn't know about that kind of stuff, some of these rubber clad aluminum gaskets look like they could be used again. I shouldn't be judging anyone, I personally replace every gasket on motors when I take something apart, that is one area that just doesn't pay to cut corners. With the time it takes to do this work right and do a good job the last thing you want to do is to have to do it all over again because of a leak somewhere. That is just from my personal experiances take it for whatever it's worth to you and good luck with whatever your doing.
