Need help pricing my busted engine
Hi I'm thinking of selling what's left of my cammed ls7 engine. ~40k miles on it. Had one cam kit in it making around 530rwhp. The engine cracked 1 piston and a hairline crack was found in the cylinder wall with a new heads n cam kit that made 606rwhp.
My tuner ended up putting in another ls7 block & forged pistons n rods.
He thinks some pistons n rods are savable, as well as possibly the crankshaft & if you're feeling frisky, you could probably resleeve the block??
I'd like to sell the entire bottom end, as the engine wasn't taken apart. Not sure what to price it all for.

Trauma travels though the entire engine with a catastrophic failure like that, creating unseen damage. FWIW, a guess would be that the crank is toast as well as the block. The remaining rods (after being checked by a QUALIFIED facility) and some ancillary bolt-ons would be all that's good.
FWIW, I wouldn't pay anywhere near $1K for it. Sorry, you asked.

Hey thanks for the reply. Any and all feedback is appreciated. I know I won't be able to make up the money to replace it, but anything to put towards the rebuild would be great. Just trying to figure how much is realistically savable in the hands of the right person (not me)!

Wait a minute I'm pretty sure it was the fuel injector not spark plug that got clogged. I'm screwing up my terms here. Either way a lean condition existed in the cylinder head.

Crank is probably fine, as well as bottom end... However if it were me, I wouldn't touch it. Coffee table and a damn fine story to tell.
