Just fishing to see what people think about going back to OEM muffler configuration. would it tone down the sound a bit? you can really hear the cam now and I guess with all the other mods the sound went up a bit from before. Its nice to listen to at first but gets a little too much after a while. Dont care to give up some power if the sound gets closer to my liking.
Whats your opinion or experience?
Thanks ahead

If you have a big cam its always going to be loud. If you have oem mufflers it might tone it down a tad.
I personally have a big cam and love the sound but its loud either way with cutouts closed or open. Just something you have to deal with in a cam'd V8.

i dont have cats on my setup. originallly before the cam it was tolerable for me with flaps closed on b and b. but now its just a bit over for me. I have a set of OEM at my shop. just might give it a try after we dyno next week.

I have a buddy with an 07 Z h/c and Billy boat fusion exhaust. I believe he is running Kooks LT headers and no catts. It's way to loud for my liking! I have a big cam, heads American Racing LT headers and catted x pipe with an Akrapovic exhaust. The sound is awesome with the flaps open. When the flaps are closed definitely not as loud but still sounds nice. I do think your OEM exhaust will make the noise much better.

Dont get me wrong, As a vette lover, I love the sound of a nice can and even semi loud rumbling exhaust. But rather listen to is on your car and drive home in a little bit more pleasing sound with the wifey. LOL!
thanks for the input guys. really leaning towards trying on the OEM. may just do it after thanksgiving.
