Default My review of the 2015 C7 Stingray with the A8!

Like the topic says. Just thought I'd give my impressions of the 2015 C7 with the new A8. The C7 belongs to friend and was kind enough to let me take it for a spin. First off, I didn't know what to except so I wasn't excepting any good or bad.

Now on to the review. The C7 was bone stock. It had the Z51 package, mag ride and PTM. The seats and interior as a whole was leaps and bounds better than my C6Z!

As far as the power goes, it felt really really quick! It had a good amount of low end grunt but seemed to taper off up top. Overall, it had plenty of power and felt quicker than I thought it would be. It felt as quick down low than my C6Z.

The handling really really impressed me! It felt very flat, planted and very stable with lots of feedback. The electronic steering felt great and very responsive. No body roll or rear end pitch over bumps on uneven roads. Again, really impressed!

Now on to the A8. What can I say, I'm really really impressed! When left in drive (non in manual mode), it shifted fast and shifts were crisp! No delay between shifts what so ever! On decel, you get a nice blip of the throttle that's addicting. I'm partial to rowing through the gears but I'm sold on this new transmission. The only downside I could find was in manual mode. There was a slight delay when using the paddles to shift. Other than that, no complaints. I would leave it in drive and go. The transmission always seemed to be in the right gear no matter what speed I was going.

Now on to the which (C6Z vs C7 w/A8) car was faster in a real world race (in Mexico of course). From a second gear roll, the C6Z pulled away and the higher the speed the more the further the Z pulled away. Ran several times from different speeds with the same result. Overall, I'm really impressed and would love to own one! Big thanks to Harly for the runs and letting me drive his sexy C7!

Thanks for the write up. Despite the delay you mention in manual mode do you think it shifts faster than you can shift your manual C6Z?

Me personally, probably not lol. However, with a more experienced driver, I think it's very possible.

Is the Z06 stock?
I just watched the PDR record of the race and the Z06 pulled away very hard in high speed!

Me too. My next Vette will be either a ZR1 or 15 C7 A8!

Can you give us more details on the performance difference between the two. Handling and acceleration? I have a 15 Z51 A8 on order !! Thanks
