Just picked up this super clean 09 z06. 42k miles for right under 40k. Ive had countless f bodies, 1 c5 targa top and a c5 z06 but this one is so much more refined. Plans are to do the heads within a couple of months. I already have a spare set i need to send off. Should i replace the valves also and springs? I dont plan to cam it or any other major mods at least for a couple years. Any other advise from more seasoned C6 Z owners

Check the heads, exhaust valves, drive, enjoy it...great color, best of luck with your new ride.

You can reuse the titanium intake valves. Just have them inspected and reground/tumble polished if necessary. Exhaust valves most people opt for stainless around here with bronze valve guides. Yes get new springs. If your not going to cam it for awhile I'd suggest PSI 1500 beehives. Advanced induction can do all the above work for pretty decent price.

So here's a question I've always wanted to ask a first time C6 Z06 driver.
What was your first impression as you pulled out on the road for the first time?

its alot faster than my previous c5s when they were stock . The comfort level is light years ahead of the c5. Ive always wanted one and since i had a major modding addiction, i figured a car this expensive will help me kick my habit. At this time I have no desire to do any serious mods to it. Im enjoying it 100% stock. I was oh so close to shelling out 6000 for an erl 440 or 454 short block for my C5Z but i decided to go look at the z06s before i did that and the rest is history. In the long run the C6z will have more value IMO over a modded c5z
