Default Cool Pic of the Day

I bought some pictures from Krookid Photography today ( https://www.facebook.com/KrookidPhotography ), he took over 3600 pictures at the No Fly Zone Arizona 1/2 mile races in Gila Bend, AZ - this is my favorite of my Z06 vs. a Nissan GT-R.

Not sure, there were quite a few Z06's and did not know all of their mods. I ran 150.70 MPH bone stock with just a CAI.

Gila Bend is 735 Ft Elevation, temps should be good in February/March when they are hoping to do this again.

I don't think it was as much elevation as traction. High HP cars couldn't get on it till well down the runway because of traction issues. Different surfaces, different traction.

The difference is in the launch skills of a standing start vs extreme HP rolling starts.
I've run low 11's at 124 with 400 HP, while a 1000 HP car struggled to squeeze into high 12's but ran 140+.
Lots of the rolling start cars also have too much HP to match traction and ability. It's only about MPH, rather than who gets there first, but 1/2 mile gives big HP extra time to make up for launch deficiencies.
