Default Racing Brake 2 Piece rotor install on my Z06

did this install a couple months back and wanted to share some pics. The install was quick and although i dont plan on tracking the car much it was just more for asthetics looks than function for me. got a really good deal on them i could just not pass up. Racing Brakes kit is true 2 piece for the front and rear. works with the emergency brake with just some minor cutting and fitting in the rear. the final look is great because you get to eliminate those aweful rusted brake rotors. Looks nice with aftermarket weeks too.

Front OEM Rotors

Rear OEM Rotor

Rear Racing Brake rotor

Had to do some cutting on the dust shield to get the new rotor to fit properly

They weigh 17 lbs. each. Which is about 8.5 lbs. lighter/wheel. I've had mine for about 5 years with the ET500 ceramic pads and I really like them.

Ack! Is that caliper hanging from the brake line!?

I use a hanger or, if the car is close enough to the ground, an upside down bucket. You don't want to be putting a whole lot of pressure on those fittings...

Normally I would never do that but, I was also replacing the brake lines for Goodridge SS lines so I didnt pay any mind to them hanging from the OEM line. Good catch though.

Website says 9lbs front and 4lbs rear...still though, a 26lb reduction of unsprung mass is still quite good.

Just google "racing brake". A link will most likely be deleted unless they are a supporting vendor here.

The reason I mentioned cause I thought coleman and racing brake was about same money? only racing brake sheds 6 lbs less then coleman on all corners..

Does Coleman retain the parking brake at the rear? This could account for the difference on the rear rotors.
