At least we will know its traps so can just compare those.
Hellcat I think could give you a good run if not win. They were doing 150+ from a standing start 1/2 mile in Florida.

Yah, thats the great thing about these events. Everyone was nice, not a competitive enviroment, just have fun.
Auto hell cat went 152 from standing start, Manual did 148, so should be close and come down to driver and traction.

looks like they timed an a8 at 16.78, that seems more like it.
0 to 150 there is no reason a C7Z should be slower than a C6Z unless GM really screwed something up. (shouldn't even be close).
You mention anything about the C7Z underperforming in the C7 section and they start crying and calling people trolls, its pretty annoying. I have no hate against the new Z, its straight line performance has just been lacking so far.
Hopefully the faster 0 -150 times are accurate.

But the a8 should brutalize the c6z in the 1/4. That's still not very good. I guess from now on Z owners should upgrade every other generation. The difference in times would be absorbed by bolt ons.

It still shouldn't be close to a C6Z, or slower than a stock ZR1, what they do 15.9 or something?
I don't know, the more I think about the new Z the more it confuses me.

None of this is really surprising…after about 575 Net HP, max 600 net HP..the game of deminishing returns applies….trying to put down massive power through 2 wheels is an exercise in futility with Street tires, which is the reason that the C6ZR1 is only marginally faster than the C6Z06-0-60, 1/4 mile. Same for the C7Z06-650 Net hp through 2 wheels cannot be totaled utilized. The current edition of Car and Driver lists the Porsche Turbo S AWD 0-60 sec with 560 Net HP at…..2.5 seconds, 1/4 mile in 10.6 seconds…with 560 Net HP. C7Z06 0-60 seconds is 3.3 seconds-2 wheel drive. Can't recall the C7Z06 1/4 time but much slower than 10.6 with 100 MORE Net HP

A C6ZR1 is more than marginally faster than the C6Z06 0-150, once the street tires (which I agree with you about), start to hook, a ZR1 will pull and pull.
What surprised me about the C7Z06 is that it was built not even trying to be in the same class in a straight line as a C6ZR1 (if the numbers are correct).
I understand that it's built to be more track focused, I just wish they had built it to be at least at the ZR1 level in a straight line. My opinion doesn't mean **** to GM, but that's how I feel, and know there are quite a few who agree with me. So that's what's surprising and a little disappointing about the C7Z to a lot of people.
