Default 2009 Z Cam and header upgrade

Sent my 2009Z to Vector Motorsports for 1-7/8" Kooks and cam swap. Going with a .655/.658 lift and 231/247 duration at .050. Car had baseline of 442RWHP stock with Halltech CAI and Corsa exhaust. Looking to make around 530 RWHP. Had a year left on warranty but could wait no longer. Just need the snow to go. Enough already here in Michigan.

Engine is a 2012 warranty replacement.
Only has 5000 miles and hoping GM had problem fixed.
Engine had #5 piston break off the rod.

I assume you are replacing valve springs for this new cam? I would insist on doing a "wiggle test" on all the valve guides.

The link below is an article on a low mileage 2012 Z06 that had valve guide issues. The NEW replacement cylinder head was worse than the used head they took off.

Best of luck!

Yes we are using the appropriate springs and they are going to check the valve guides.
Thanks for the input!

If you just want 530rwhp I would have done a smaller cam. That is a solid 550+rwhp cam.

More is always better, like to be conservative with my expectations!
