start problem
Got in my car tonight and hit the ignition button. Car turned over several times but wouldn't start. Did this to me a few weeks ago but on second attempt it started. Tonight I hit the ignition probably 5 times and car never even tried to start. Any suggestion? Fuel pump gone bad????

I don't think it has thrown an engine code but I will check. Im thinking its the fuel pump but its hard for me to believe a car with 30k miles would need one. Sucks because i have heads an cam that is was going to put in next now i gotta fix this first. If its the fuel pump does anyone recommend a good replacement?

Must check for codes, TH.
Present code(s) w/could tell you exactly what the issue(s) are/is, making this a slam dunk.
In case you're not aware most parts stores will read customer's code(s) for free if you don't want to buy a Tech II. OK?
Check for codes.
Confirm your empiricals, you may very well be correct concerning a bad FP, other member's experience seems to be pointing in the FP direction.
But the worst thing to do, IMO, is guess. Start throwing parts at a suspected problem in hopes of getting lucky.
Gets beaucoup expensive fast using that tack. Right?

Hahaha yes throwing parts at it could get expensive considering a replacement one is around $600. I would hate to put a new one in and have that not fix it.
Im still haven't had time to put a fuel pressure gauge to it to see if its getting fuel. I should have time to figure it out this weekend. Until then its just a big paper weight taking up space in my shop.

I got time to mess with the car yesterday. I checked the relay and the prongs looked like they had been pushed out so i replaced it with a different relay. Car fired right up. I let it run for about 30 min then turned it off and back to make sure it was fixed. Car fired right up again. I let it sit for about an hour and then tried starting. Car wouldn't start again! Tried starting it a few time and messing with the relay but still no luck. I let it sit again for about 30 min thought hey ill see if it will fire. Hit the ignition and car fired right up. Since car was running I moved over to a lift and left it on the lift. I can feel the relay click when the car tries to start. The whole thing has me kind of perplexed.
