The shop I used recommended Crane 850 lifters. It's a relatively mild build, so I wasn't able to justify linkbar lifters. From my limited research there has been plenty of success with the 850's in the LS platform. I was thinking about 'upgrading' to the 875's, but my research turned up more issues with 875 vs the 850.

Do the Johnson SLR 2110 lifters require a different length pushrod?

Short answer, I don't know.

Long answer, it will depend on your setup, any head deck milling, cam base circle, preload, etc will determine if you need new length rods. The Johnson's need about .040" +/-.010" of preload, according to Randy Vrooman, head of engineer at Johnson. Which is less preload than the stock LS7 lifters. Just something that has to get measured after everything is assembled.

I ended up needing new rods, 7.760" for my build.

Do you know how to check preload and pushrod length? I have an adjustable pushrod and I know you can take a sharpie on the top of the valve stem to check for a wear pattern that is in the middle of the stem. What else would you check?

I also purchased the Johnson lifters. The fact that the copo's redline was 8k is what sold me. They seem like a quality peice.

Katech used OEM lifters when they installed the torquer 110.

I put new OEM lifters in 15K miles later when I had the heads done.

Plenty of track time and street time with no issues.

GM says they are good enough to go into the 8's. And, Steven at LMR says he has never heard a valve train as quiet as mine. So......... COPO

I decided on new OEM lifters (delphi LS7 from BTR) and new trays for my torquer 110 h/c build.

You do realize you must remove the heads on an LS engine to replace lifters? It is possible to change the cam without changing lifters.

I think most of us are using either LS7 lifters, or Johnson lifters.

Morel 5206 link bars. Road race application. The car had the quietest valve train I had ever heard before it came apart. It's still quiet.
