New battery recommendation?
I drive the Z on the weekends so I am wanting a battery that can be on standby for a while, ex. AGM or Lithium
What batteries are recommended for the c6z?
Thanks!

I use the Duralast Gold batteries from AutoZone in all four of my cars(including my Z06), plus I use the cheap float chargers from Harbor freight on the three that sit awhile between drives.
The Duralast that is in my Z06 has the hole for the vent tube . Perfect including the hold down clamp fits.

And it has a "Strap" to help install and remove..
I had a Duralast Gold when I had my Z. Perfect..

Duralast Gold for me, too.
If you are taking the old one out yourself, get a $4 battery strap to pull it out and save your knuckles. The new one will have it's own strap and the vent tube hooks right up as indicated above. If you put a little duct tape on the bottom of the hook hold down they won't fall out of their holder when you drop the new battery in.
If you have a small cigarette plug trickle charger, hook that up before you take out the battery and all your settings will be saved and the windows won't have to be reindexed.

I've used a lot of different batteries in different vehicles for sound systems and what not. Of all the batteries i've had the Optimas have never let me down and thats what I stuffed in the C6Z.

I switched to a yellow top because I somehow managed to kill a red top. Red top doesn't deep cycle very well. I need to get a float charger because even the yellow top will die if I let it sit for more than two weeks. These cars sure do have a high drain for some reason. My truck (2002 Silverado) has a red top, and I can let it sit for months and it will still fire right up.

This. In my opinion, the best plan is to always use a trickle charger. No matter what battery you choose, these cars will drain it. For the record, I have the Duralast Gold. It will still go flat in a few weeks if not charged.

I've always had good luck with the AC Delco in both the 'Z' and my '67'. In fact the Delco in my '67' has lasted 14 years so far and still load checks good. But I agree with "C6DuffMan" above, use of a trickle charger will definatley prolong the life of batteries.

Given the vent tube and little play in the cables plus the odd top left + post, I got the Delco Professional Replacement today. The old number was 90-6 yr Professional. The replacement part number is 90-PS.
I pulled it out alone by putting 3 layers of duck tape down the sides and made a handle for it. On the new one I wrapped 3 layers of duck tape around it and made my own handle.
For those using the Duralast, does it also have a front left + post? I looked online today but couldn't confirm that nor the location of the vent tube so just got a stock replacement.

Same story. My Optima Red top died and they warrantied it. I replaced it with a yellow top and a Battery Tender Jr. No problems since.
